Yale Rep Announces 2009-10 Season With THE MASTER BUILDER & More

YALE REPERTORY THEATRE (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) is pleased to announce its 2009-10 Season, which will include Henrik Ibsen's The Master Builder directed by OBIE Award winner Evan Yionoulis (Yale Rep's Richard II and Black Snow); Eclipsed, a new play by Danai Gurira, co-author of the acclaimed In the Continuum, directed by Liesl Tommy (the world premiere of The Good Negro); the world premiere of Compulsion by Rinne Groff directed by Oskar Eustis; Carlo Goldoni's commedia dell'arte masterpiece The Servant of Two Masters directed by Christopher Bayes (choreographer of the hit Broadway production of Alfred Hitchock's The 39 Steps); and Battle of Black and Dogs by Bernard-Marie Koltès directed by Robert Woodruff (co-adaptor and director of 2009's Notes from Underground at Yale Rep).

Playwrights Horizons Presents Reading, Signing With Theresa Rebeck 4/20

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) will present a special reading and signing with Pulitzer Prize finalist and Playwrights Horizons alumna writer Theresa Rebeck in honor of the upcoming paperback release of her acclaimed novel Three Girls and Their Brother. The event will take place Monday evening, April 20 at 8:00PM at the theater company's Mainstage (416 West 42nd Street), in advance of the paperback's release by Three Rivers Press on Tuesday, April 21.

Saito, Kim, Lee Head 'AMERICAN HWANGAP' at The Wild Project Beginning 5/9

Two Obie Award-winning theater companies -- The Play Company and Ma-Yi Theater -- will collaborate this spring to present the New York premiere of Lloyd Suh's new play AMERICAN HWANGAP, with previews to begin May 9, prior to an official press opening May 17 Off-Broadway at The Wild Project (195 East 3rd Street) in Manhattan. Trip Cullman directs an ensemble cast featuring some of the country's most accomplished Asian American actors, including James Saito (TV's 'Eli Stone' and Obie winner for DURANGO), Michi Barall (Charles Mee's QUEENS BOULEVARD), Mia Katigbak (DOGEATERS), Peter Kim (THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE), and Hoon Lee (YELLOWFACE).

Berkeley Repertory Theatre greets the new year by proudly presenting its 50th world premiere, a new comedy about marriage, intimacy, and electricity from the creators of Eurydice. Celebrated playwright Sarah Ruhl and Obie Award-winning director Les Waters come together again for the debut of In the Next Room (or the vibrator play). Commissioned by Berkeley Rep and staged in the state-of-the-art Roda Theatre, this hotly anticipated play begins previews on January 30, opens February 4, and closes March 15. BART and Wells Fargo serve as season sponsors for Berkeley Rep's 41st year of fearless theatre, and the executive producer for this show is the Strauch Kulhanjian Family.
