New Rep's 25th Anniversary Gala Set To Take Place 5/12

On Tuesday, May 12, 2009, New Repertory Theatre will hold its 25th Anniversary Gala Fundraiser?an exciting evening of memorable scenes and songs from seasons past, including A Streetcar Named Desiree, The Clean House, The Threepenny Opera, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, and Ragtime. The performance will feature some of your favorite New Rep artists. There will also be a fond farewell tribute to outgoing Producing Artistic Director Rick Lombardo.

New Repertory Theater Announces 2009-2010 Season

New Repertory Theatre announces its 2009-2010 season, the inaugural season for new Artistic Director Kate Warner. The new season will present five plays on its Mainstage in the Charles Mosesian Theater; two plays in its Downstage @ New Rep series in the Black Box Theater; and two holiday offerings.

Athol Fugard's EXITS AND ENTRANCES Plays Through 3/15

New Repertory Theatre, in residence at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, is thrilled to present Exits and Entrances by Athol Fugard. Exits and Entrances opens for the press on February 25, 2009 at 7:30pm and plays through March 15, 2009 at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in the Charles Mosesian Theater. 'Exits and Entrances is a powerful play that looks at the importance of art and the impact it has on society,' states Rick Lombardo, Producing Artistic Director for New Repertory Theatre. 'With all the political and economic changes we are facing and undergoing, I could not imagine a more relevant time to stage this work.'

New Rep Extends Run of CABARET Thru 2/8

New Repertory Theatre, in residence at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, announces it will be extending its run of Kander and Ebb's Tony Award-winning musical Cabaret. Repertory Theatre presents provocative and intelligent works of both established and emerging playwrights in an intimate setting that involves and engages the audience. New Rep has earned a reputation for dynamic productions that honor the writers and feature talented professional actors from the New England Theatre community as well as guest artists from around the U.S. New Rep has received Elliot Norton and IRNE Awards for outstanding acting, scenic design, directions, and production. New Rep's Lead Sponsor for Cabaret is Bank of America and its Broadcast Partner is Comcast. Programming at New Repertory Theatre is supported in part by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Kate Warner Announced As Artistic Director For New Rep

New Repertory Theatre announced today that Kate Warner, nationally known, award-winning director from Atlanta-based Dad's Garage Theatre Company, will be the company's new Artistic Director. 'Kate Warner is a natural leader,' said Michael McCay, Chairman of the Board of New Repertory Theatre. 'She has been very successful as an Artistic Director and is known for her programming savvy. Kate also has the vision and experience to drive the continuing growth of our theatre. Under her stewardship, Dad's Garage experienced impressive growth while remaining financially stable.'

San Jose Repertory Theatre roars into the new year with the Regional Premiere of A Picasso (Barrymore Award for Best New Play), a provocative play by one of America's most widely produced playwrights, Jeffrey Hatcher. Jonathan Moscone, Artistic Director of California Shakespeare Theater, directs this smart and sexy exploration of art, politics and censorship. A Picasso runs January 24 - February 22, 2009 at San Jose Repertory Theatre, 101 Paseo de San Antonio in downtown San Jose. Preview performances are January 24, 25, 28, and 29.
