Vital Theatre Company has announced the return of past Vital favorite A (Tooth) Fairy Tale, opening March 16, 2013 at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre at 2162 Broadway at W 76th St. The show features book by author Ben Winters (Uncle Pirate [musical]; The Last Policeman; Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters [novels]), music and lyrics by Rick Hip-Flores (My New York), and direction by Linda Ames Key. Following the success of its 'New American Composers' Night in May 2012, The Break-Away Project will host a 'New American Musical Theatre Night', which will showcase compositions from some of America's most talented young composers. Break-Away will be hosting one of New York's finest up-and-coming composers Scott Evan Davis, described by the Huffington Post as one of America's 'must-know songwriter's' and more tonight, 21st August, 2012, in Bewley's Cafe Theatre, Grafton St., Dublin 2, Ireland.

Vital Theatre Company, winner of the 2012 Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Family Show, has announced its 2012-2013 Family Programming season in its home theatre at 76th Street and Broadway. Featuring four musicals for children and families, this year's Vital season includes two world premieres and two returning favorites. In Fancy Nancy The Musical and Show Way, two popular children's books are newly adapted for the stage. Vital favorites Angelina Ballerina™ The Very Merry Holiday Musical and A (Tooth) Fairy Tale return to round out the season. This lineup continues Vital's mission to produce entertaining and educational live theatre for families and young audiences.

Presented by Dan Whitten, Mark Beigelman, Peter Martin and Tiger Theatricals, Jacques Brel RETURNS... is a new cabaret production now in its second year featuring a rotating cast performing highlights from Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris as well as Brel songs not in the original score.

Jacques Brel RETURNS announced that it will be extending its run through October at The Triad, 158 West 72nd Street, NYC.

UnsungMusicalsCo. Inc. (www.UnsungMusicals.org) will present a special exploratory reading of the 1950 musical comedy Arms and the Girl as part of The Archival Project, a UMC initiative aimed at researching, assembling and restoring the material from unpublished and out-of-print musical shows.
