Vancouver Opera Announces 2022-2023 Season

Vancouver Opera has announced the 2022-2023 season. Returning to the Vancouver Opera stage after 28 years is The Pearl Fishers in October. A company premiere alights the Queen Elizabeth Theatre with ethereal magic in A Midsummer Night's Dream in February. Concluding the season is the long-awaited return of a legend with Wagner's The Flying Dutchman.
Midland Center For The Arts Celebrates 50th Anniversary

It was May 1, 1971 and the Midland Symphony Orchestra and Choirs of the Center were joined together for the dedication concert of Midland Center for the Arts featuring “Prelude to Die Meistersinger” by Richard Wagner, “Adagio for Strings” by Samuel Barber, and “The Promise of Living” by Aaron Copland.

Opera Maine's 2022 Studio Artist Program, under the leadership of Richard Gammon, will feature performances of The Fall of the House of Usher by Philip Glass on June 29 and July 1, 2022. The opera will be sung in English with English supertitles and performed with the full orchestration.

Hungarian State Opera to Mount Production of PARSIFAL

Featuring a cast headed by internationally renowned István Kovácsházi, Andrea Szántó, Károly Szemerédy and András Palerdi, the new production of Wagner's final opera is staged by András Almási-Tóth and conducted by Balázs Kocsár at the refurbished Opera House. The 15 April 2022 premiere is also streamed live on OperaVision, whereas the 17 April performance is a joint Bartók Spring event of the Hungarian State Opera and Müpa.
