Fresh from his role with The Book of Mormon, Haydn Oakley stars as Gilbert Chilvers. Amy Booth-Steel, currently appearing in the National Theatre's The Light Princess, will play Gilbert's wife, determined social-climber Joyce Chilvers.
In the New York Philharmonic's concerts this week celebrating the centennial of English composer, conductor, and pianist Benjamin Britten, conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert, tenors Dominic Armstrong, Anthony Dean Griffey, and Michael Slattery will replace Paul Appleby, who has withdrawn due to illness. On November 21-22, 2013, Michael Slattery will make his Philharmonic debut in Britten's Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings, and tenor Dominic Armstrong will make his Philharmonic debut in Britten's Spring Symphony. The concert on November 23 will feature tenor Anthony Dean Griffey in both works, and he will sing the Serenade on November 26 on a program that also includes Mozart's Symphonies Nos. 39 and 41, Jupiter.

According to Variety, the band will be the featured musical guest on next Monday's episode ahead of the release of their upcoming album 'Reflektor,' out Oct. 29.

February 26 and 27 at The Music Room at SPCO Center in Saint Paul, the SPCO's Liquid Music series and Walker Art Center will present an evening of music by composer Sarah Kirkland Snider, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond, The Decemberists), and chamber ensemble yMusic. The elegantly woven program will showcase excerpts of Snider's Penelope surrounded by new chamber works from My Brightest Diamond and yMusic, whose recent albums topped critics' 'best of' lists nationwide.
