Contrary to an earlier report, young actors Julia Abueva and Tanya Manalang, recently announced to be playing ensemble in the record-breaking West End revival of 'Miss Saigon,' will be covering--not alternating for--the female lead, Kim.

PhilStar.com writes that two Pinay talents will be alternating with the recently announced star Eva Noblezada in the title role of 'Kim' in the West End's MISS SAIGON revival next year. Noblezada will perform four shows a week, with Julia Abueva and Tanya Manalang taking over the rest.

Cameron Mackintosh has just announced principal casting for his forthcoming new production of Miss Saigon. Assembled from around the world, this exciting international cast includes Jon Jon Briones as 'The Engineer', Eva Noblezada as 'Kim', Alistair Brammer as 'Chris', Tamsin Carroll as 'Ellen', Hugh Maynard as 'John' and Rachelle Ann Go as 'Gigi'. Miss Saigon makes its highly anticipated return to the West End on Saturday 3 May 2014 at the Prince Edward Theatre, in the musical's 25th anniversary year.

The Daily Mail writes that Cameron Mackintosh has cast 17-year-old Eva Noblezada -- a Charlotte, NC native -- in the lead role of Kim in the upcoming West End revival of Miss Saigon. Noblezada was discovered by casting director Tara Rubin at the 2013 Jimmy Awards in New York City.

Belmont Ave. This Black History Month presentation with book by Murray Horwitz and Richard Maltby Jr. and music by Thomas "Fats" Waller and various other composers and lyricists features direction and choreography by Brenda Didier and music direction by Jaret Landon. Previews are Saturday, Feb.1, 2014 at 8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014 at 2 and 6 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. Opening/Press Night is Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. The regular run schedule is Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 4 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. There is an added matinee performance Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 1 p.m. Tickets are $30 for previews and $39 for all other performances. North Shore Music Theatre's (NSMT) production of Claude-Michel Schonberg, Richard Maltby Jr., and Alain Boublil's phenomenal popera “Miss Saigon,” which ran for a limited time, starring Jennifer Paz (Kim) and Jason Forbach (Chris), officially closed yesterday. Interestingly, real-life couple Jennifer and Anthony Fedorov's seven-month-old son, Julian, also made his professional stage debut in the show's final performance!

Cortland Repertory Theatre, one of New York State's longest running professional summer theatres, is announcing their 43rd annual season for the summer of 2014. Producing Artistic Director Kerby Thompson says that variety is the key element that he and the CRT Board of Directors Play Review Committee look for in putting an exciting season together. "The committee and I read a lot of different plays, and look for how best to piece an exciting season together." Other items such as the number of actors in the casts, expense of costumes and sets, and the estimated popularity of the shows also play a part. "Additionally, because we hire actors and technicians from around the country, we need to provide housing for them, so that also becomes a major factor in deciding if and when to do a show." Thompson says.
