South Coast Repertory's Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF) will celebrate its 11th annual edition with a lineup composed of seven SCR-commissioned plays from an array of writers. Since its creation in 1998, PPF has grown into one of the most important festivals of new scripts in the United States. This year's Festival will take place during the May 2 through May 4 weekend with a workshop production, four staged readings and two fully-staged World Premieres on South Coast Repertory's two major stages. Roundabout Theatre Company is proud to present a new Broadway production of Pal Joey, with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Lorenz Hart. Pal Joey will feature a new book by Tony Award winner Richard Greenberg, based on the original book by John O'Hara, with music direction by Tony Award winner Paul Gemignani, choreography by Graciela Daniele and directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello at Studio 54 on Broadway.

South Coast Repertory Artistic Directors David Emmes and Martin Benson have been named the recipients of the 2007-08 Margo Jones Medal. The prestigious award honors those who have demonstrated a significant impact, understanding and affirmation of the craft of playwriting, with a lifetime commitment to the encouragement of the living theater everywhere. The venerable duo has guided South Coast Repertory from a small touring company into one of the country's leading professional theaters, now approaching its 45th season and known world-wide for its development of new work for the stage. The Ohio State University Libraries and College of the Arts will present the award to Emmes and Benson on May 1 at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, California, kicking off the theater's nationally-renowned Pacific Playwrights Festival.

Old Globe presents the west coast premiere of The American Plan, by Richard Greenberg, directed by Kim Rubinstein, to run in the Cassius Carter Centre Stage February 23 - March 30

'Homecoming' is the theme of Barrington Stage Company's 14th Season. The theatre that developed and premiered William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin's The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on its Stage II in 2004 welcomes home the award-winning Broadway hit to its Mainstage from June 11 through July 12. Long-time BSC director Rob Ruggiero returns to direct Richard Greenberg's The Violet Hour, which will play July 17 through August 2. Julianne Boyd will direct Noel Coward's delicious battle-of-the-sexes comedy Private Lives starring Christopher Innvar from August 7 through 24. Private Lives marks the fifth stage collaboration between Boyd and Innvar.

On Monday, January 21, at 8PM, the 92nd Street Y Unterberg Poetry Center will present the world premiere of Seven, a documentary theater piece based on the real-life stories of seven extraordinary women from around the world who overcame adversity to make their voices heard as advocates for change.

The Injured Party, a new comedy by Tony Award-winning playwright Richard Greenberg, will receive its World Premiere at South Coast Repertory during the 11th annual Pacific Playwrights Festival. Commissioned by SCR, and directed by Trip Cullman, The Injured Party will run from April 20 through May 11, 2008 on the Julianne Argyros Stage.

American Conservatory Theater (ACT) presents N. Richard Nash's classic western romance The Rainmaker; directed by the esteemed Mark Rucker. The Rainmaker will play ACT October 25 through November 25. Press night is Tuesday, October 30, at 8PM. Tickets - starting at $14 - are now available.

The Fringe NYC Encore Series presents the Playwrights' Arena and Frantic Redhead production of Hillary Agonistes as part of the Fringe NYC Encore Series, for nine more performances only, at the Bleecker Street Theater.

It was announced today that Academy Award and Tony Award winner Kevin Kline and Golden Globe winner Jennifer Garner will star in a new production of Cyrano de Bergerac, Edmond Rostand's 1897 romantic classic, with a translation and adaptation by Anthony Burgess
