Georgia Shakespeare brings Atlanta's favorite outdoor theatre tradition back to Piedmont Park this May with 'Shakespeare in the Park.' Formerly known as 'Shake at the Lake,' the event now has a new name to reflect its move in 2012 to a new location at the Legacy Fountain.

ATLANTA- On Monday, November 5th, the Atlanta theatre community will celebrate the 8th Annual Suzi Bass Awards. The awards recognize the best of Atlanta's professional theatre scene, and Broadway World Atlanta will be updating the results live throughout the evening. The Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. announced nominations for the 2011-2012 Atlanta professional theatrical season this evening to an enthusiastic crowd of patrons and theatre industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by the Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville, GA. The spacious lobby allowed guests to enjoy drinks, hors d'ouevres and the chance to congratulate their colleagues. Guest announcers, Atlanta's own funny men Bryan Brendle, Bart Hansard, Tony Larkin, Aurora Theatre artistic director Tony Rodriguez and Scott Warren shared the list of nominees while playfully riffing on the 2011/2012 Atlanta theatre season.
As part of its multi-year process to create a strong operating model, Georgia Shakespeare today announced the key elements of its 2013 artistic programming, which include a more focused approach to its summer productions, as well as further development of 'Shakespeare in the Park' into one of Atlanta's signature cultural events.

The Suzi Bass Awards are proud to announce the Center for Puppetry Arts as the recipient of this year's 'Spirit of Suzi' Award. The 'Spirit of Suzi' Award is given to a person or organization that demonstrates the long-term and consistent contribution to Atlanta theatre that embodies the spirit of the late and much-loved actress Suzi Bass, for whom the Awards organization is named.

Georgia Shakespeare announces that the city-wide competition The Search for Ralphie has come to a pitch-perfect conclusion. After four open calls across the city, semi-finals and finals rounds, 13-year-old Cooper Driskell has been selected to portray Ralphie on stage in this December's production of A Christmas Story. The competition also sought and found six other kids' roles: Ralphie's brother and his friends.
