Science and Soulmates may sound like the subject of a Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode. It's also the title of a riveting play cycle at Cultural DC's Source Festival.
Glass Mind's flagship play festival returns! This year, inspired by the city's expression of unrest, 8 playwrights sat down for a week to put thoughts to paper, using a tweet as their inspiration. What came out the other side is a night filled with passion, anger, laughter and more. Brainstorm has always striven to be a platform for local artists to explore their craft, and this year we intend to engage Baltimore at-large to talk about the events in our city.
This season, Iron Crow consciously sought out plays that featured strong female characters and put them at the center of the story. Artistic Director Steven J. Satta, says: 'Regardless of where you sit on the gender spectrum, we know these plays will speak to you. These productions will provide you with a rich and satisfying evening in the theatre.'
What could be more Baltimore than a tribute to Edgar Allan Poe? And the Iron Crow Theatre Co. does it with a delightfully queer spin that, true to the company's form, is artistic, entertaining and insightful.

I really don't like restoration comedies. I find them didactic, repetitive, obvious and really not that…comedic. So, with resignation I headed to the Vagabond Players in Fells Point to witness their production of Moliere's The Misanthrope. And here's what happened - I enjoyed it.
The Vagabond Players's contemporary production of Moliere's The Misanthrope runs weekends through September 29. This high comedy, directed by Howard Berkowitz; had audiences laughing opening weekend. The production is sleek, sophisticated and riotously funny.
