The Public Theater announced today that Kevin Kline will reprise his Tony Award-winning role of The Pirate King with Glenn Close as Ruth, Eric Idle as the Sergeant, and Martin Short as Major-General Stanley in the one-night-only concert performance of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE for The Public's annual gala. Co-chaired by Sir Howard Stringer, Arielle Tepper Madover, and Renee Beaumont, this unforgettable summer evening will also honor the late Nora Ephron who was a long-time board member and consummate lover of The Public's Shakespeare in the Park.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Kevin Kline will reprise his role of the Pirate King in The Public Theater's upcoming gala performance of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE. The one-night-only concert performance will be held on Monday, June 10 at the Delacorte Theater where The Public's production originally premiered more than three decades ago. Additional casting has not yet been announced.

The Addams Family, a new musical based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, is currently celebrating its L.A. Virginia Madsen and Steven Weber are set to perform A Work Of Art, Pulitzer Prize finalist Stephen Karam's first play (which he wrote at age 17), at 20 Years of Winners: Scenes, Songs, and Speeches from 20 Years of the Young Playwrights Festival this evening, June 3 at 6pm. A Work of Art was produced in The Blank Theatre's Young Playwrights Festival in 1997.
