Milan Stitt, American playwright and educator, passed away on March 12 at age 68. Stitt's most well known work is the acclaimed hit The Runner Stumbles, with a plot based on real events about a priest on trial in Michigan in 1911.

The YORK THEATRE COMPANY (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) and Melanie Herman, who produced The Musical Of Musicals (The Musical!), announce the final performances of the Off-Broadway Premiere of My Vaudeville Man!, a new musical based on the life of legendary eccentric tap star Jack Donahue. My Vaudeville Man! had its world premiere at last year's NY Musical Theatre Festival under the title Mud Donahue and Son.

Daytime mainstay Eileen Herlie, who played the wise Myrtle Fargate for 32 years on ABC's 'All My Children,' died Wednesday, ABC has announced. Her death came from complications from pneumonia. She was 90 years old.

Contrary to reports by the New York Post last week, Mel Brooks has recently stated that he will NOT be shutting down his film company Brooksfilms. Brooks told the Hollywood Reporter that 'I'm not quitting. Brooksfilms is still here and will be going on for awhile. I'm not at all slowing down and nobody has told me to stop'.

According to the 'Page Six' section of the NY Post, Mel Brooks is closing the curtain on his film company, Brooksfilms which he started in 1980. After his popular comedies started making their way onto the big screen, Brooks started the company so his future films would not be branded with the title 'A Mel Brooks Film' and be automatically categorized into farces. The first film the company launched was 'The Elephant Man' and later produced more hits such as 'Space Balls.'

The New York Musical Theatre Festival, in association with Melanie Herman, will present the World Premiere of Mud Donahue & Son, a new musical with book by Jeff Hochhauser, based on Jack Donahue's 'Letters Of A Hoofer To His Ma,' with music by Bob Johnston and lyrics by Johnston & Hochhauser, directed by Tony Award nominated Lynne Taylor-Corbett (Swing!), as part of the 4th Annual NY Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF).
