John Rando to Helm 'ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN' in Rep with HAMLET for The Acting Company, 1/9-2/1

After 27 years, Tom Stoppard's seminal work, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead returns to the New York stage directed by Tony-winner John Rando (Urinetown, A Christmas Story). Presented by The Acting Company in rotating repertory with Hamlet, directed by Ian Belknap, performances begin January 9 and run through February 1 at the Pearl Theater, 555 West 42nd Street, NYC.

Arcade Fire Announce 2014 REFLEKTOR North American Tour

Grammy Award-winning band Arcade Fire announced today the REFLEKTOR TOUR in support of their international #1 album, Reflektor (Merge). The REFLEKTOR TOUR will kick off on March 6, 2014 in Louisville, KY. The Live Nation produced tour will take the band to 28 cities throughout North America. Tickets for the general public go on sale starting Friday, November 22 at www.livenation.com.

Court Theatre's Charles Newell Wins SDC Foundation's 2013 Zelda Fichandler Award; Ceremony Set for Today

Charles Newell, Artistic Director of Court Theatre in Chicago, Illinois, is the 2013 recipient of The Zelda Fichandler Award, an award to recognize an outstanding director or choreographer who is transforming the regional arts landscape through imaginative, brave work in theatre. Court Theatre Artistic Director Charles Newell Receives SDC's Zelda Fichandler Award

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), announces that Artistic Director Charles Newell of Court Theatre is the recipient of the 2013 Zelda Fichandler Award, which recognizes an outstanding director or choreographer who is transforming the regional arts landscape through singular creativity and artistry in theatre. The award heralds accomplishment to date and promise for the future, artistic vision, and deep commitment to a region outside of New York. It carries an unrestricted grant of $5000 to the individual recipient. The award will be presented to Mr. Newell on Monday, November 4, 2013 at a reception at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.

The Hollywood Wilshire YMCA will celebrate its 10th annual Comedy For A Cause fundraiser. Comedy For A Cause brings together acclaimed comedians who volunteer their time and talent to showcase a line-up of stand-up comedy in support of the Hollywood Y's youth programs, which are dedicated to instilling leadership qualities in its community's children. The event will take place at the Sunset Strip's world-famous Laugh Factory in Hollywood from 8 - 10 p.m. tonight, Oct. 22.

Georgia Clinton Stars in Amphibian Stage's DEATH TAX, Now thru 11/10

Amphibian Stage Productions presents its final main stage production of the 2013 season, Death Tax by Lucas Hnath. Georgia Clinton, Stormi Demerson, John Forkner, and Laurel Whitsett will star in this dark comedy, running tonight, October 17 through Sunday, November 10 at Amphibian's theater at 120 S. Main Street. Rene Moreno will direct the production.

'To be, or not to be - that is the question' addressed by the Tony Award-winning Acting Company as they bring their newest production, William Shakespeare's Hamlet, to the Harris Center/Three Stages. According to the New York Times 'The Acting Company endures as the major touring classical theater in the United States.' This will be the first production of Hamlet in The Acting Company's 41-year history.

Acting Company's HAMLET Headed to Gallo Center Today

The Acting Company of New York will return to the Gallo Center for the Arts with William Shakespeare's 'Hamlet' today, October 13, at 4 pm. The company last visited the Gallo Center in 2012 with 'Of Mice and Men,' performing before a capacity audience.

The special responds to the fact that suicide is the third-leading cause of death among young people ages 15-24, and aims to empower viewers facing emotional struggles to get help or to support friends in need. Ms. Fleischman will be presented the Warburg Humanitarian Award for her outstanding philanthropic endeavor and support of the arts. Harriet Harris (Cinderella) and Barclay Collins are Gala Chairs, Nathan Lane (The Nance) and Hal Prince (21 Tony Award winner) will present the awards; Stephen DeRosa (Boardwalk Empire) will host, Laura Osnes (Cinderella) will perform. Tributes will be offered by a host of celebrities.
