The 2015 Tony Award Nominations were announced earlier today, and while a select, talented few will spend the day celebrating their achievements, there are many who fell just short of a nod.

The 69th Annual TONY AWARDS, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, will take place on June 7 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. With the recent confirmation that Mary-Louise Parker and Bruce Willis will announce the nominations for the awards on April 28, BroadwayWorld brings you a look back at the shows whose curtains have come down for a final time - though remain eligible to take home the top prizes on theatre's biggest night!

Sting and THE LAST SHIP cast rock the boat at 54 Below!

The original cast and band of Sting's musical The Last Ship reunited on the 54 Below stage earlier this week to celebrate their run with an eclectic evening themed around seafaring songs. At Birdland every Monday night at 9:30pm, Jim Caruso's Cast Party celebrates talent from every corner of the entertainment scene. Broadway, jazz, cabaret, pop, folk, country…over the past twelve years, the Cast Party crowds have been entertained by most every genre of music! This past week, the talent was off-the-charts. Rachel Tucker, the recent star of The Last Ship on Broadway, gained a slew of new fans with two Kander & Ebb anthems that had the crowd standing, stomping and cheering for more!

THE LAST SHIP just played its final performance on Broadway on January 24 at theNeil Simon Theatre (where it has played 29 preview performances and 105 regular performances). On December 9, 2014, Sting, who composed The Last Ship's score, joined the cast in the role of Jackie White, the foreman of the shipyard who rallies his community to build one last ship meant to sail the world. Sting recently spoke openly about the casting switch up in an interview with The Stage.

THE LAST SHIP played its final performance on Broadway on Saturday, January 24 at 8 p.m. At the conclusion of the show, its composer, and cast member Sting took to the stage to thank the cast, crew and the audience and to reflect on the show's journey. Watch below!

The Last Ship began previews on Broadway on September 29 prior to its official opening on October 26, 2014. When the show concludes its 4-month engagement, it will have played 29 preview performances on Broadway and 105 regular performances at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W. 52 St.) The Last Ship's music will live on with the Original Broadway Cast Recording, which was recently released on Universal Music Classics and debuted at #1 on Billboard's Cast Albums Chart last week.
