IT GETS BETTER THEATER PROJECT to Play The Moore Theatre, 2/23

It Gets Better is the upbeat, exciting, and funny narrative and musical that includes moments of pain and pathos from the 'It Gets Better' you tube videos and project, started by Seattle's Dan Savage. A 6-member cast of the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA) will partner with the UW Chorale, from the University of Washington, and over the course of a one-week residency, these artists will collaborate with other local performers, citizens, and educational and government institutions in building a community performance responding to the issue of bullying in local schools, culminating with a staged musical program at The Moore Theatre on February 23rd.

Cuban heat is coming to the Blue Note this March when Juan de Marcos and the Afro-Cuban All Stars stop by for a week on their U.S. tour. The Afro-Cuban All Stars Orchestra is a creation of acclaimed Cuban producer, Juan de Marcos Gonzalez, best known for his work with the Buena Vista Social Club. Deemed the "Quincy Jones" of Cuba, he built his orchestra using Cuba's best musicians & vocalists. Juan de Marcos is available for interviews in person during the tour in select locations.

On Saturday, January 12, 2013, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) raised in excess of $1 million in support of YoungArts programs in Miami, New York City, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles at An Affair of the Arts Performance and Gala. Held in Downtown Miami, the evening honored director and choreographer Debbie Allen (Leadership Award), violinist Joshua Bell (Arison Award), and actor and alumnus Adrian Grenier (Alumni Award) and brought together prominent artists, community leaders, philanthropists and celebrities. In addition to the honorees, notable attendees included Lin Arison, Sarah S. Arison, Elizabeth and Facundo Bacardi, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Charles Bronfman, Chick Corea, Jacques d'Amboise, Bill T.
