Determinazione e passione per l'arte sono stati gli ingredienti fondamentali che hanno portato alla creazione e alla realizzazione della grande rassegna "Tutti pazzi per il Teatro", un viaggio fra teatro, musica, musical e danza che vi accompagnera per tutta la prossima stagione primavera/estate. Questo progetto che comprende 15 spettacoli e nato dalla collaborazione fra Anima&Musica e Dreaming Academy, Accademia di Musical e Spettacolo di Padova in particolar modo nelle figure di Mirco Fattore e Alessio Guerra (Direttori Artistici) Bruna Laura Filippini (regista e insegnante di recitazione) che ne ha curato la parte artistica e organizzativa degli spettacoli di teatro e prosa, e Riccardo Sabatiello che ne ha curato la parte della danza, allo scopo di dare una nuova vita al Teatro Polivalente e crearne un nuovo centro culturale per la citta di Abano Terme.

Ars Lyrica Houston's A Roman Feast Gala, Honoring Rhonda and Donald Sweeney chaired by Drs. Rachel and Warren Ellsworth IV, and Sarah and Gabriel Loperena took place March 3, 2018 in the historic Esperson building in downtown Houston, an event to raise funds for the organization's first fully-staged Baroque opera, Handel's Agrippina to be produced November 2018. The evening began with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the contemporary Rusk Lobby, filled with fragrant lavender, ferns and Romanesque decor with live harp music. An intimate concert of Handel arias followed, performed by acclaimed countertenor Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen, Artistic Director Matthew Dirst on harpsichord, and violinist Alan Austin in the Esperson Neils Lobby. Guests then enjoyed a grand feast on theme and ended with an Italian disco after party in the transformed Neils Lobby complete with dancing, drinks, light bites, and craft beer sponsored by Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co.

Teatro Nuovo, the new organization led by Will Crutchfield, is proud to announce its inaugural Bel Canto Festival at Purchase College, The Dawn of Romantic Opera, July 28-August 5 2018, in collaboration with The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College. The Festival will present semi-staged productions of Rossini's Tancredi, Mayr's Medea in Corinto, two operas premiered in 1813; one by a mature master and the other by a budding genius, both pointing the way for opera's Romantic century. The Festival will also include a second version of the Rossini score, Tancredi rifatto, incorporating extensive music that the composer wrote for later revivals. Teatro Nuovo will also introduce a radical new adventure with early 19th-century performing style and period orchestral instruments.

San Francisco Opera Center Announces 2018 Adler Fellows

San Francisco Opera Center Director Sheri Greenawald today announced the eleven recipients of the 2018 Adler Fellowship. Eight singers, two pianist/apprentice coaches and one director will take part in the program. The multi-year performance-oriented residency offers advanced young artists intensive individual training, coaching and professional seminars, as well as a wide range of performance opportunities. Adler Fellows are selected from the artists who have participated in the Merola Opera Program. The prestigious fellowship has nurtured the development of more than 175 young artists since its inception.
