The Riverside Theatre, Voza Rivers/New Heritage Theatre and Walk Tall Girl Productions will present Obie Award-winner Daniel Beaty in EMERGENCY, an updated version of his critically acclaimed solo play EMERGENCE-SEE! Once again directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, EMERGENCY will have a limited engagement of only four performances, Thursday, August 5 - Saturday, August 7 at 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday, August 8 at 3:00 p.m. at The Riverside Theatre, 91 Claremont Avenue. Moran, National Endowment for the Arts CEO Rocco Landesman, Corporation for National and Community Service CEO Patrick Corvington, and musical artist Cat Power on Tuesday, August 3 at noon for the last event of the Department of Education's Let's Read. Let's Move. summer enrichment series at the U.S. Department of Education's Lyndon Baines Johnson headquarters building in Washington, D.C. About 60 Pre-K - 3rd graders and staff from C.W. Harris Elementary School and 20 preschool children from the ED/HHS Children's Center will listen to the guests read stories and will participate in fitness activities.

Men and women of the armed forces grapple with the anxiety of returning home in Brewsie and Willie, a world premiere stage adaptation of Gertrude Stein's post-World War II novella. Produced by the California Institute of the Arts' (CalArts) Center for New Performance (CNP) in association with Poor Dog Group, a groundbreaking experimental theater collective, Brewsie and Willie will run from July 13 to August 1, 2010.

Children Will Listen On Monday night, the Obamas hosted a starry event at the White House that was streamed live on the White House Official Website and right here on Broadway World that featured the top talents of the Great White Way singing the very best songs by (mostly) American composers. Among the participants were Elaine Stritch, Nathan Lane, Tonya Pinkins, Brian D'Arcy James, Audra McDonald, Chad Kimball, Karen Olivo and Idina Menzel. Additionally, the concert featured Marvin Hamlisch, who accompanied Idina Menzel on his song from A CHORUS LINE, 'What I Did For Love', who I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing yesterday and whose InDepth InterView will be going live tomorrow.
