Story Pocket Theatre's A POCKETFUL OF GRIMMS Plays Edinburgh Fringe, Now thru Aug 31

A Pocketful of Grimms makes its UK debut at Gilded Balloon (Dining Room) from today 5 - Monday 31 August, 12.30 (ends 13.30). The production is presented by the award winning children's theatre company, Story Pocket Theatre. The company's creative team presented Arabian Nights, winner of the prestigious Primary Times Children's Choice Award at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, 2014.

The production is presented by the award winning children's theatre company, Story Pocket Theatre. Story Pocket Theatre to Bring STORYTELLER, STORYTELLER to Edinburgh Fringe, Aug 7-30

Award winning children's theatre company Story Pocket Theatre will present Storyteller, Storyteller from Friday 7 - Sunday 30 August 2015, 14.30 Free Show, Arch 3, New Waverley Arches, as part of the Freestival. This is one of three shows that Story Pocket Theatre are staging at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Last year they won the prestigious Primary Times Children's Choice Award for their debut show Arabian Nights.

Zhu Yi's I AM A MOON Set for FringeNYC, 8/9-16

Mia Shen in association with Pocket Theatre is proud to present I AM A MOON, Zhu Yi's lyrical play partially inspired by the life of legendary Japanese porn star Ai Iijima, as part of the 17th annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC. The show will play the Lynn Redgrave Theater (# Venue 14) Aug. 9-16.

Jakie Cabe and More Star in Amphibian Stage Productions' FICTION, Now thru 3/17

Amphibian Stage Productions today announced casting for its first main stage production of the 2013 season, Fiction by Steven Dietz. Jakie Cabe, Lydia Mackay, and Cara L. Reid will star in this poignant drama, running tonight, February 21 through Sunday, March 17 at Amphibian's theater at 120 S. Main Street. Mary Catherine Burke, a New York-based director, will lead the production.

Photo Blast from the Past: Marcel Marceau

Today, we're featuring Marcel Marceau in 1983. Marceau joined Jean-Louis Barrault's company and was soon cast in the role of Arlequin in the pantomime, Baptiste (which Barrault had interpreted in the film Les Enfants du Paradis). In 1947 Marceau created Bip the Clown and was first played at the Théâtre de Poche (Pocket Theatre) in Paris. In his appearance he wore a striped pullover and a battered, beflowered silk opera hat.

THE WIZARD OF OZ Plays TIP Mainstage Today, May 17

'The Wizard of Oz' by L. Frank Baum, book by John Kane, music by Harold Arlen, lyrics by E.Y. Harburg, directed by Jonah Hagans, will be presented on Tokyo International Players' mainstage tonight, May 17 through May 20.
