Award winning children's theatre company Story Pocket Theatre will present Storyteller, Storyteller from Friday 7 - Sunday 30 August 2015, 14.30 Free Show, Arch 3, New Waverley Arches, as part of the Freestival. This is one of three shows that Story Pocket Theatre are staging at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Today, we're featuring Marcel Marceau in 1983. Marceau joined Jean-Louis Barrault's company and was soon cast in the role of Arlequin in the pantomime, Baptiste (which Barrault had interpreted in the film Les Enfants du Paradis). In 1947 Marceau created Bip the Clown and was first played at the Théâtre de Poche (Pocket Theatre) in Paris. In his appearance he wore a striped pullover and a battered, beflowered silk opera hat.
