Student Blog: Returning to Broadway
by Student Blogger: Blake Velick
- Oct 25, 2021
Above all, the Broadway experience is just as magical as before even with mask mandates and the lack of stagedooring. Not only did I feel safe watching the performance, but I also knew that everyone onstage was protected thanks to all the audience members committing to wearing masks and showing proof of vaccination.

Broadway Beyond Louisville Review: PRETTY WOMAN THE MUSICAL at The Aronoff Center
by Taylor Clemons
- Oct 22, 2021
The cast is led by relative newcomer Olivia Valli as Vivian. This show is her first leading role having been an ensemble player in various companies over the last few years. I cannot overstate how perfect Valli is in the role. Vocally she's stunning, but what makes this combination of performer and role such a match made in heaven is the fact that Valli brings an unmatched level of charm, wit, spunk, and grit to the role.

Campus Cabaret’s artistic director and co-founder David W. David had the opportunity to see the very first production of A PERFECT GANESH back in 1993 at the Manhattan Theatre Club. “It's a play that stayed with me for many, many years.

BWW Review: RIAN KEATING Tells Boldly Confessional Stories In TIME STAMPS at Don't Tell Mama
by Ricky Pope
- Oct 11, 2021
Rian Keating is a masterful storyteller. His stories are filled with humanity. And even though his tales are very personal and specific, they remind us all that at the heart of things, we are all struggling with the same emotions and challenges. We are all looking for our place in the world while dealing with challenges and joys and heartbreaks. This is the focus of his new show TIME STAMPS: FRAGMENTS OF A LIFE IN STORY AND SONG which opened last night at Don’t Tell Mama. You may remember Rian Keating from the early days of NY cable access when he interviewed some of the biggest theatre celebrities on his show SPOTLIGHT. Or you may have seen one of his many shows at Don’t Tell Mama where he shared his stories and songs. Rian has spent many years in education, as a teacher and on the board of education. This show, like all of his theatrical endeavors, was a fundraiser for the GOLDEN DOOR SCHOLARSHIP, an endowment dedicated to undocumented students who do not otherwise have funds available for higher education. Keating is a special person, indeed.

BWW Review: A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM at Gamut Theatre
by Rich Mehrenberg
- Oct 8, 2021
The course of true love never did run smooth, but a good Shakespeare play often does. That is my take away from a recently viewing of Gamut Theatre's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. This show is fresh, fun, and funny. The remarkable 24 character show was performed by 14 actors, which calls for a lot of double and even triple billing.

BWW Review: You Will Be 'Hopelessly Devoted' to Theatre Three's Production of GREASE
by Nicholas Pontolillo
- Sep 30, 2021
It has been over a year and half since the world shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Finally, I'm thrilled to say, Theater has returned. 'Welcome back!' Oops, Wait I'm mixing-up my 1970's John Travolta pop culture references. 'I got chills and they're multiplying' (that's better). Thankfully, these multiplying chills are not from COVID, but from Theatre Three's fantastically fun production of Grease, complete with an on-stage hot rod.
