The Cleveland Orchestra Releases Three New Recordings

The Cleveland Orchestra will have three new commercial recordings available worldwide in May: a new DVD recordings of Franz Welser-Most leading Bruckner's Symphony No. 8 recorded at Severance Hall; Pierre Boulez leading the Adagio from Mahler's Symphony No. 10 and Des Knaben Wunderhorn with vocal soloists Magdalena Kožena, mezzo-soprano, and Christian Gerhaher, baritone; and a CD of Mitsuko Uchida leading and performing Mozart's Piano Concertos Nos. 20 and 27.

Roundabout Theatre Company announced the full company of the new musical Death Takes A Holiday, with a book by Peter Stone & Thomas Meehan, music & lyrics by Maury Yeston, directed by Doug Hughes. The cast will include Linda Balgord (Contessa Danielli), Matt Cavenaugh (Eric Fenton), Mara Davi (Alice), Joy Hermalyn (Cora), Jay Jaski (Lorenzo), Simon Jones (Dr. Dario Albione), Rebecca Luker (Duchess Lamberti), Patricia Noonan (Sophia), Julian Ovenden (Prince Sirki / Death), Jill Paice (Grazia), Michael Siberry (Duke Lamberti), Alexandra Socha (Daisy Fenton), Don Stephenson (Fidele), Max Von Essen (Corrado Montelli).

The long overdue London premiere of the Broadway musical The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd, directed by acclaimed West End and RSC director Ian Judge, and designed by three time Olivier Award winner Tim Goodchild, opens for a four week limited season at the Finborough Theatre on Tuesday, 7 June 2011 (Press Night: Thursday, 9 June 2011 at 7.30pm).
New World School of the Arts Music Virtuosa Competes in XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition 2011

At the ripe young age of 16, Anna Maria Litvinenko is the youngest competitor that will perform in the respected International Tchaikovsky Competition, this year comprised of four music categories, 25 countries, and 122 musicians. Anna, a junior in the New World School of the Arts (NWSA) high school program, is an accomplished cellist who just last year performed Dvorak's Cello Concerto with the Miami Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Eduardo Marturet.
