NCTC Announces Auditions for CABARET

The musical 'Cabaret' by Joe Masteroff takes places in Germany in the 1930s. The audience is invited, by the emcee, to escape to the Kit Kat Klub and leave all their troubles behind. Newnan Community Theatre Company (NCTC) will present the show in May.

Actors Studio Drama School Hosts Full Length Staged Readings, All Open To Public

The death of a father, medical ethics, a drag queen, family secrets, mental illness, love, an honest detective and a family caught up in a hurricane (both internal conflicts AND the weather) are the themes resonating in the MFA playwrights' staged reading series presented by the acclaimed Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University during the weekends of February 27 and 28 and March 6 and 7.

A Noise Within Presents MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, Runs 3/6-3/21

A Noise Within (ANW) begins the second half of the 2009-10 season with WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE's classic comedy MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, directed by Michael Murray, opening Saturday, March 6 and closing Friday, May 21, 2010 (previews begin Saturday, February 27).

GroundWorks Theatre Presents Nashville Premiere of FAT PIG on 3/5/10

Amanda Lamb, most recently seen in Sanders Family Christmas at Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre, stars as Helen, with Michael Coursey (Fiddler on the Roof and La Traviata in New Orleans) as Tom. Wilhelm Peters (Boiler Room Theatre's Picasso at the Lapin Agile) and Lauren Atkins (Circle Players' Titanic, Nashville Dinner Theatre's Swing) round out the cast. Paul J. Cook (Street Theatre Company's Tuesdays With Morrie) directs.

PURE Theatre Presents World Premiere of LOWCOUNTRY BOIL by R.W. Smith

PURE Theatre is proud to announce the world premiere of Lowcountry Boil written and directed by Charleston's own R.W. Smith, and will feature Jennie Pringle, R.W. Smith, David Mandel, Kevin Curler, Robbie Thomas, Will Hodges, Katie Huard, Brian DeCosta, and Randy Risher. Lowcountry Boil opens Friday, March 5 and runs through the 27th.

DCTC Set for MAMA HATED DIESELS, OTHELLO & MARIELA IN THE DESERT

The Denver Center Theatre Company completes the 2009/2010 season with Mama Hated Diesels - a Denver Center World Premiere musical by Randal Myler and Dan Wheetman, an intimate setting of William Shakespeare's Othello and the winner of the National Latino Playwriting Award - Mariela in the Desert by Karen Zacarías.

McCarter Theatre to Host Morton-Helmed BUFFALO Starring Letts; Opens 3/9

McCarter Theatre will continue its 2009-2010 season with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of David Mamet's American Buffalo. The production is directed by Tony Award-nominated August: Osage County actress Amy Morton and starring August: Osage County's Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright Tracy Letts, runs from March 9 through March 28 (press opening: Friday, March 12 at 8pm). The cast will also feature John Judd and Patrick Andrews.
