MTWorks Presents PARTS OF PARTS & STICHES, 3/15-31

MAIEUTIC THEATRE WORKS (MTWorks) and producer, Martha Goode, have announced the world premiere production of Riti Sachdeva's PARTS OF PARTS & STICHES, recognizing the 65th Anniversary of the partition of India and Pakistan, directed by Cat Parker.

Musical Chairs Chamber Ensemble Performs Works by De Falla, Debussy, More 3/31

Musical Chairs Chamber Ensemble, Inc. (MCCE) presents the third concert in its 2011-12 residency at The Staten Island Museum on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 8pm. The evening features works by MCCE's 2011-12 composer-in-residence Andrew Rosciszewski, MCCE's Composer Search Finalist 2012 Elizabeth Nonemaker, Claude Debussy, Manuel De Falla, Alan Hovhaness, Henryk Gorecki and Francis Poulenc performed in a cabaret-style setting by MCCE members Tamara Keshecki (flute), Amanda Romano (harp), Elizabeth McCullough (soprano) and Wen-Yi Lo (piano). The performance will be livestreamed from www.mcensemble.org via Justin.TV and MCCE will field questions during via Twitter and Facebook.

Mark Nelson, Ari Brand, et al. Set for Long Wharf's ASHER LEV

Long Wharf Theatre will present My Name is Asher Lev, by Aaron Posner and adapted from Chaim Potok's 1972 novel,directed by Long Wharf Theatre Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein. The show will run from May 2 through May 27 on the Mainstage. The press opening will take place Wednesday, May 9 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $40-$70. First Stars Announced for INTO THE WOODS in Central Park; Additional Casting for AS YOU LIKE IT Revealed

The Public Theater has announced additional casting today for the 50th Anniversary season of free Shakespeare in the Park at the Delacorte. David Furr (Orlando) and Stephen Spinella (Jaques) join the previously announced MacIntyre Dixon (Adam), Renee Elise Goldsberry (Celia), Omar Metwally (Oliver), and Lily Rabe (Rosalind) in Shakespeare's comedy AS YOU LIKE IT, directed by Daniel Sullivan.

NVA Brings THE COMPLETE WORKS (ABRIDGED) to the Schulman Auditorium, 4/5-7

New Village Arts announces an exclusive engagement of THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (abridged) at the Schulman Auditorium in Carlsbad April 5-7. This highly comedic romp through all of Shakespeare's plays will be directed by Ensemble Member Justin Lang and feature Ensemble Member Kyle Lucy with Durwood Murray and Trevor Sanderson. Luna Negra Dance Theater to Present CARMEN.maquia, 3/24

Luna Negra Dance Theater continues its season this spring with a World Premiere by Artistic Director Gustavo Ramirez Sansano titled CARMEN.maquia, a Picasso-inspired, contemporary take on the famous, fiery and flirtatious Spanish gypsy, Carmen. This work marks Luna Negra's first-ever full evening-length production and is a creative collaboration between three prize-winning artists: choreographer Sansano, Spanish fashion designer David Delfin and set designer Luis Crespo. Luna Negra presents CARMEN.maquia in one performance only at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 E. Randolph Drive, Saturday, March 24 at 8 pm.
