Mad Cow Theatre Presents PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE

Mad Cow Theatre is delighted to announce the cast and creative team for Steve Martin's uproariously offbeat comedy Picasso at the Lapin Agile, which will take the Harriett stage Jan. 20, 2017 as the fourth production of Mad Cow Theatre's Season 20.

Berkeley Art Museum And Pacific Film Archive Presents Michael Armitage/MATRIX 263, Today

The University of California, Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) presents Michael Armitage / MATRIX 263, on view from December 14, 2016 through April 2, 2017. The exhibition features the lush paintings of London- and Nairobi-based artist Michael Armitage, who merges European styles with East African subjects, materials, and perspectives. MATRIX 263 debuts a new body of work in which Armitage reflects on sexuality and gender stereotypes in Kenya.

National Portrait Gallery To Stage First Major Exhibition To CEZANNE

The National Portrait Gallery is to stage the first exhibition devoted entirely to portraits by Paul Cezanne, it was announced today, Thursday 8 December 2016. This major new exhibition, Cezanne Portraits, will bring together for the first time over 50 of Cezanne's portraits from collections across the world, including works never before on public display in the UK.

Lehmann Maupin Announces Solo Exhibition for Kader Attia, 1/13

Lehmann Maupin is pleased to announce its second solo exhibition for Kader Attia. This will be the New York debut of Attia's multimedia video installation, Reason's Oxymorons (2015), which premiered at the 13th Biennale de Lyon in 2015. Reason's Oxymorons is a video library comprised of 18 interviews presented within a modular cubicle environment. The interviews feature European and African ethnographers, psychiatric and philosophical practitioners, and theorists discussing topics grouped under titles including "Genocide," "Totem and Fetish," "Reason and Politics," and "Trance." On Friday, January 13, there will be a media preview at 11 AM, and the gallery will host a public opening reception for the artist that evening from 6-8 PM.

Writers Theatre presents the World Premiere of THE HUNTER AND THE BEAR

Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, continues its 25th Anniversary Season with the World Premiere of The Hunter and The Bear, written by PigPen Theatre Co. and directed by Stuart Carden and PigPen Theatre Co. The production runs December 7, 2016 - January 22, 2017 in the Alexandra C. and John D. Nichols Theatre at 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe.

The CSO Collaborates with BalletMet to Present the RUSSIAN WINTER FESTIVAL 1/6- 1/7

In this first installment of the CSO's Russian Winter Festival, Music Director Rossen Milanov will conduct this exciting collaboration featuring the musicians of the CSO and principal dancers of BalletMet in unparalleled performances of Stravinsky's fascinating Petrouchka and selections from Prokofiev's romantic Romeo and Juliet. BBC New Generation Artist Elena Urioste will also perform Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, providing a perfect complement to this not-to-be-missed evening of Russian music. The Russian Winter Festival will be enhanced by educational and interactive offerings throughout the week prior to the concerts.
