NYCPMI Hosts Stage: Jazz Greats At Birdland Exhibit 3/18

The New York Center of Photography and the Moving Image (NYCPMI), the newest addition to New York City's museum and cultural landscape, will present an exhibition of new and never-before-exhibited color and black-and-white photographs by photographers Ryan Paternite and Richard Conde featuring some of the 20th century's greatest jazz musicians in performance on the legendary Birdland stage.

Creel, Rivera Set for Birdland in November

Gavin Creel is set to perform his new cabaret, Back to New York at Birdland on Mondays, November 1, 8, and 15 at 7pm. Creel is returning from appearing in the West End production of Hair after appearing in the Broadway production last year. Creel has also appeared on Broadway in Thorougly Modern Millie.

Gurland and Farley Sing Rodgers and Hammerstein at Beechman, 9/26

kef theatrical productions has announced the return of GURLAND AND FARLEY SING RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN. The one-night only performance will take place at 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 26th at the Laurie Beechman Theater in the West Bank Café, 407 West 42nd Street at Ninth Avenue. The show features David Gurland and Brian Farley with music direction by Tracey Stark. Filmmaker Art Holliday is hosting a September 19th fundraising concert 'Johnnie's Jam: A Tribute to Johnnie Johnson' at The Sheldon for his music documentary JOHNNIE BE GOOD, the story of St. Louis native and Rock-n-Roll Hall of Famer Johnnie Johnson. This film is also featured on the site IndieGoGo where people can 'buy' various tax deductible items from the film while helping Mr. Holliday build up the funds needed to finish the film.

Margot Leverett and the Klezmer Mountain Boys kick off SummerNights on July 1 followed by Ansambl Mastika on July 8, and The Sexteto Rodriguez Cuban-Jewish All Stars on July 15. The Jewish Museum is located at Fifth Avenue at 92nd Street, Manhattan. Each concert begins at 7:30 pm. Tickets for each concert are $15 for the general public; $12 for students and seniors; and $10 for Jewish Museum members. Thelma Houston to Star in HEARTS ON FIRE at Teatro ZinZanni, 2/4-5/16
