Emory Dance Company's Fall Concert Explores Facets of Humanity, Now thru 11/23

The Emory Dance Company experiments with new viewpoints in contemporary dance in their fall concert, today, November 21 - 23 in the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts. This concert showcases the choreography of Emory faculty members Anna Leo, Lori Teague and George Staib, as well as guest artists Kristin O'Neal from the University of Florida and Emily Johnson, a current Schwartz Artist in Residence at Emory and director of Catalyst Dance in Minneapolis.

Rooftop Films Hosts Special Screening of MEDORA Tonight

Rooftop Films and Piper-Heidsieck Champagne present a special sneak preview of the documentary film MEDORA at the Angel Orensanz Foundation on November 6th. Directed by Andrew Cohn and Davy Rothbart, MEDORA follows the down-but-not-out Medora Hornets varsity high school basketball team over the course of the 2011 season, capturing the players' stories both on and off the court.

Collegiate Chorale Presents MEFISTOFELE at Carnegie Hall Tonight

Jeffrey Thompson Joins CCM and Constella Festival in Bach's ST. JOHN PASSION Today

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's (CCM) Chamber Choir and Philharmonia Chamber Orchestra join forces to perform a unique staged production of Johann Sebastian Bach's visceral rendering of the St. John Passion as the next installment in CCM's 2013-14 Prestige Concert Series. The monumental work will be presented at 5 p.m. today, Nov. 3, at Christ Church Cathedral under the direction of Earl Rivers, staged by Omer Ben-Seadia, and in conjunction with the Constella Festival of Music and Fine Arts.

SF Girls Chorus Opens Season with FRENCH IMPRESSIONS Tonight

The Firm to Present Final Concert of the Year, 11/4

The Firm will present its final concert for the year on Monday November 4, 8pm, Elder Hall with a performance of Franz Schubert's last piano sonata D.960 together with works by Philip Glass and Adelaide composers Quentin Grant and Raymond Chapman Smith.

This new program builds on the most successful year ever for the Barbican, with attendances for events at the Centre exceeding 1 million for the first time, an increase of 36% on 2011/12. In this Olympics year, box office receipts also rose 33%, and the Barbican's commercial income increased by 35%.
