World Premiere of COUNTY LINE Opens Tonight at Performance Network Theatre

From tonight, January 16 through February 16 Performance Network Theatre presents the world premiere of the 2013 National New Play Network Showcase Selection and Edgerton Award-Winning inspiring drama 'County Line' by David Wells, who made his Performance Network debut in last season's audience favorite comedy, 'Brill'. He is a University of Michigan Alumnus and one of Michigan's most popular emerging playwrights. Performance Network to Bring Five Free Shows to Ann Arbor Public Schools in 2013-14

The Ann Arbor arts scene is vibrant and full of opportunities for children, including the children's theater arm of Performance Network, Ann Arbor's award-winning professional theater. The Children's Theatre Network brings educational shows directly to students, performed on-site in school auditoriums from September through May. Thanks to the generosity of Linda Sprankle and an anonymous Ann Arbor donor, Performance Network and the Ann Arbor Public schools announce a collaboration that will bring one free performance to each of the 21 AAPS elementary schools.

Performance Network to Present JERRY'S GIRLS, 11/14-1/5

During the holiday season Performance Network Theatre presents a new take on the larger than life Broadway musical "Jerry's Girls", a revue of the work of Jerry Herman who wrote the music for shows such as "Hello, Dolly!", "La Cage Aux Folles", and "Mame". "Jerry's Girls" is directed by Carla Milarch and stars an all female cast including award-winning musical theatre actress, Naz Edwards, from November 14 - January 5, 2014 as well as a special New Year's Eve performance followed by a champagne toast at midnight. Performance Network Theatre Restores Phone System, Database; Kicks Off 3-Day Ticket Sale

Ann Arbor's professional theater, Performance Nework, recently announced its 32nd anniversary season, sparking great interest and excitement in the Ann Arbor community. And then its phone system went down. And then its online ticketing system crashed, leaving patrons with literally no way to buy the tickets they so desired. This week, after a nail-biting journey for staff and patrons, both the phone system and the database have been restored, and Performance Network is offering a special thank you to its stalwart fans for their patience, making tickets to its entire upcoming season available for a whopping 32% discount - in honor of its 32nd season.

Performance Network is proud to announce its 2013 -2014 season with epic plays and a musical revue extravaganza for its 32nd season in their intimate theatre located in Downtown Ann Arbor. The very first play of the season, 'An Iliad' adapted by Denis O'Hare and Lisa Peterson, begins on September 26th, 2013 as a one-man contemporary retelling of the famous poem, followed by 'Jerry's Girls' with music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and concept by Larry Alford, Wayne Cilento, and Jerry Herman, the World Premiere of 'County Line' by Ann Arbor playwright David Wells, the sexy 'Venus in Fur' by David Ives, a reimagined 'Richard III' by William Shakespeare, Pulitzer Prize Finalist 'Other Desert Cities' by Jon Robin Baitz, and the World Premiere of 'The Renaissance Man' by Joseph Zettelmaier closing on September 7, 2014. Performance Network Announces 30th Anniversary Gala Lineup

The seven shows scheduled this season at Performance Network are just the last in a long line of plays and musicals staged at Ann Arbor's professional theatre, now celebrating its 30th Anniversary Season. To mark this milestone, PNT is holding an inspiring Anniversary Gala, entitled "Home Grown, World Class," which will showcase the plays, musicals, and talents featured over the past 30 years, from the early 80's "Waiting for Godot" to 2010's 'The Drowsy Chaperone." This fund raising event will be held on Saturday March 24th at 6pm at Kensington Court Hotel. Tickets are still available and will be sold through March 16.
