I can't think of a better finale to Segerstrom Center for the Arts' 2010-2011 Cabaret Series season than the impressive Opera baritone hunk Nathan Gunn, whose 4-night O.C. debut set continues in Costa Mesa through this Sunday, March 27. But make no mistake-the man is more than just a handsome face. With a brilliant talent and an affable charm that far outstretched the intimacy of the Center's Samueli Theater, Gunn provided the O.C. with a wonderful last shot of testosterone to a terrific Broadway Diva-heavy season.

Greenleaf and produced by Andrea Spitz, the impassioned story of star-crossed lovers whose forbidden love catapults over family rivalry into the poetic realm of romance and tragedy. Romeo and Juliet will perform weekends February 18 to March 12.
Theatre in the Square's first season included a revival of the 1939 Broadway hit, The Little Foxes. In the theatre's 29th Season, the American classic of greed, deception, corruption and manipulation will once again grace the Main Stage of the converted cotton warehouse that is now Theatre in the Square. Last fall, Theatre in the Square hired local educator and director, Susan Reid, to take on the role of Education Director. The winter acting classes for youth, teens and adults have been a huge success. Summer Camps will begin for grades 1-12 beginning in June. Each class will end in a performance on the Alley Stage. In April 2011 The New York Philharmonic This Week - the two-hour, national, weekly radio program of concerts by the New York Philharmonic, hosted by actor Alec Baldwin - begins with the fourth and final program from Hungarian Echoes: A Philharmonic Festival conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen. Mr. Salonen leads Haydn's Symphony No. 8, Le Soir; Bartok's Piano Concerto No. 1, with Olli Mustonen as soloist; Ligeti's Clocks and Clouds, featuring the Women of New York Choral Artists, Joseph Flummerfelt, director; and Bartok's Suite from The Miraculous Mandarin. The following week Michael Tilson Thomas conducts Prokofiev's American Overture for Orchestra, Op 42; the New York Premiere of Sofia Gubaidulina's In Tempus Praesens, Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, with Anne-Sophie Mutter, The Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence, as soloist; and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 2, Little Russian.
Marc Masterson, who for 11 years has served as the artistic leader of Actors Theatre of Louisville, will join South Coast Repertory in April as its new Artistic Director. Masterson will work alongside Managing Director Paula Tomei as Co-CEO of the theatre, while David Emmes and Martin Benson will become Founding Directors, working part-time to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
