10HL Dance Company Returns to New Brunswick for 5th Season

10 Hairy Legs returns to New Brunswick for its fifth consecutive season at a new location. Tickets for the weeknight show are $25 General Admission/Students at the Door and $20 for Artists, Students in Advance and Groups of 10 or more.  Tickets: 10HL.org. The performance features the New Jersey Premieres of 10HL 2016 Commissions by Doug Varone and Megan Williams, a Preview of a new Commission by New Jersey native Al Blackstone, and a new work choreographed by Artistic Director Randy James.

Raritan Valley Community College Main Stage Series Presents THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE

A pre-Thanksgiving Holiday Treat is in store for the whole family when Randy James' all male dance company, 10 Hairy Legs, and invited female guest artists will dance James' The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College on Sunday, November 20 at 3:00 pm for public audiences and again onMonday, November 21 at 10:00 am for school groups. 10 Hairy Legs Sets 2016 New York Season, 6/23-26

10 Hairy Legs, the all-male repertory dance company, returns to New York Live Arts for its fourth consecutive New York Season for four performances June 23-26.  Continuing to showcase the company's extensive repertory that celebrates and explores the artistry of the male dancer, this season features 3 World Premiere works and the return of David Parker's “Slapstuck.” 

Jack to Present Sister Sylvester's THEY ARE GONE BUT HERE I MUST REMAIN, 9/3-19

JACK will present the acclaimed performance collective, Sister Sylvester, with their new work, They Are Gone But Here Must I Remain which will preview on Thursday, September 3rd and  open on Friday, September 4th at JACK (505 1/2 Waverly Ave in Brooklyn). The company's New York premiere will run through September 19th. They Are Gone But Here Must I Remain, a multi-faceted piece, directed by Kathryn Hamilton, examines the ties between art and rebellion. The New York Times chose Sister Sylvester's recent work, Dead Behind These Eyes as a critic's pick and Time Out called their The Maids' The Maids "genuinely subversive." They Are Gone But Here I Must Remain, will be performed September 3rd, open on September  4th and continue September  5th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 17th, 18th and 19th at 8PM. Site-Specific DEAD BEHIND THESE EYES Set for Sing Sing Karaoke, Begin. 8/29

Chicago International Movies & Music Festival (CIMMfest No. 5), Chicago's annual festival of film screenings, music concerts and more, presents CIMMpathy for The Stones, a major retrospective celebrating The Rolling Stones' 50 years of music on film. The retrospective includes screenings of ten concert films and documentaries - two never before seen in Chicago - plus music videos and filmmaker Q&As today-Sunday, April 19-21, at Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport.

Susan Marchall Debuts ADAMANTINE At Montclair Univ. 3/26-29

Marking a significant departure for the choreographer, Susan Marshall's world premiere, 'Adamantine,' incorporates technology into its choreographic structure inviting spontaneous improvisation by its six dancers. Many of the usually hidden elements of the stage, its pipes, lighting and ropes are exposed and creatively manipulated to challenge the audience's visual and aural perception and expectations. Peter Whitehead is composing the original score.
