THE AUDIENCE, Starring Helen Mirren, Draws Advance of £2 Million But Must End June 15

According to the Daily Mail, Helen Mirren has begun rehearsals for Peter Morgan's The Audience, about Elizabeth II. The play has already drawn a box office advance of £2 million, but regardless of popularity, The Audience must end its engagement on June 15 due to the Chichester Festival Theatre production of Private Lives, set to begin at the Gielgud Theatre on June 22.

Ron Howard, Al Michaels, and More to Be Inducted Into TV Academy Hall Of Fame

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame Committee has selected a distinguished group of television innovators and icons to be inducted into the 22nd Hall of Fame. Additionally, for the first time ever, this year's Hall of Fame ceremony will benefit the Television Academy Foundation's Archive of American Television.

THE AUDIENCE Adds Preview Performances

Two further preview matinee performances (16 and 27 February 2013 at 2.30pm) have been scheduled for Stephen Daldry's production of Peter Morgan's The Audience.

Silver Spring Stage Presents A CHRISTMAS CAROL, Now thru 12/16

Silver Spring Stage will present the family festive favorite Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol adapted by Michael Hardwick, directed by Pauline Griller-Mitchell and produced by Natalie McManus and Pauline Griller-Mitchell. The holiday classic has delighted generations with the story of Ebenezer Scrooge visited by the Ghosts of Christmas to reveal his past, present and future if he continues miserly ways. This hour-long version of A Christmas Carol will run two weekends only tonight, December 7 to December 16.

Michael Elwyn, Nathaniel Parker and More Join Helen Mirren in THE AUDIENCE - Full Cast Announced!

Joining Helen Mirren as The Queen in the world premiere of Peter Morgan's The Audience are Michael Elwyn as Anthony Eden, Nathaniel Parker as Gordon Brown and Rufus Wright as David Cameron, alongside the previously announced Haydn Gwynne as Margaret Thatcher, Robert Hardy as Winston Churchill and Paul Ritter as John Major. Final casting will be announced shortly.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Haydn Gwynne has been cast as Margaret Thatcher opposite Helen Mirren as the Queen in Peter Morgan's play The Audience at the Gielgud Theatre. Silver Spring Stage presents These Shining Lives by Melanie Marnich, directed by Bob Benn and produced by Seth Ghitelman, the powerful true story of the strength and determination of women working in a 1920's clock factory exposed to toxic chemicals. Theirs is an inspirational story of survival and courage to save other workers from harm. These Shining Lives will perform weekends October 26 to November 17.

This season, patrons will once again be treated to outstanding live theatre at Open Stage of Harrisburg's Angino Family Theatre directed by Founder and Executive Artistic Director Donald Alsedek. The season kicks off in October with Peter Morgan's FROST/NIXON, apropos for this election year. The season continues with a new holiday offering great for the whole family, Truman Capote's A CHRISTMAS MEMORY, a world premiere adapted for Open Stage by Harrisburg's own Jim Woland. Next is JOE TURNER'S COME AND GONE, the 1910's installment of August Wilson's Pittsburgh Cycle of plays that chronicles the black experience in America. Closing the season is Sarah Ruhl's sweet and sexy comedy, IN THE NEXT ROOM or the vibrator play, which is sure to tantalize the patrons of the intimate playhouse on the street leveled of the Walnut Street Garage.
