Seattle Opera's 2009/10 Young Artists arrived Monday, October 12, to begin their season, and promptly started rehearsing for their fall touring production of Mozart's Così fan tutte. In November, they will perform in Walla Walla (November 11), Bellingham (November 13), Kirkland (November 15), Seattle (November 20), and Leavenworth (November 22).

With thousands of Wagner enthusiasts from around the world arriving in Seattle for a nearly sold-out Ring cycle which opens today, General Director Speight Jenkins announced that Seattle Opera will present Wagner's Tristan und Isolde July 31 through August 21, 2010, continuing its dedication to presenting the works of Richard Wagner. The company last staged Tristan in August 1998.

Seattle Opera General Director Speight Jenkins today announced the names of the eight finalists and two alternates selected for the second International Wagner Competition, which will be held at McCaw Hall in Seattle on August 16, 2008. The singers-all between the ages of 25 and 39-were nominated by agents, general directors, and other established opera professionals.
