Cirque Dreams Concludes Broadway Engagement Today, August 24th

CIRQUE DREAMS Jungle Fantasy, a theatrical, acrobatic and musical adventure that has toured the country extensively and become an entertainment sensation with audiences of all ages, will conclude its limited engagement of ten weeks on August 24. Directly following the Broadway engagement the show will continue its national and international touring.

Porter, Espinosa and More to Perform at 'Broadway in South Africa' Benefit Concert

Broadway In South Africa: The Concert is a star-studded evening that will feature world-premiere songs created by award-winning Broadway composers, including Grammy Award winner Henry Krieger, performed by Broadway stars such as Eden Espinosa and Billy Porter. This benefit concert will raise money for the January 2009 South African initiative of a new, not-for-profit organization called Broadway In South Africa (BSA), and will take place on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. in the Peter Jay Sharp Theater at Peter Norton Symphony Space, located at 2537 Broadway at 95th Street.

America's longest running professional summer theatre, The Cape Playhouse, will proudly present the 1940's comedy Born Yesterday as their fifth summer offering. The production will star Leslie Kritzer as the dim-witted showgirl, Billie Dawn, along side Michael McGrath as the shrewd tycoon, Harry Brock. Born Yesterday opens on Monday, August 18th.

Leguizamo and Cedric the Entertainer to Star on Broadway in Mamet's 'America Buffalo'

American Buffalo is now officially confirmed to begin performances on 10/31, with an opening night date of 11/17, the play is considered one of David Mamet's signature works. The drama details the bungled heist of an old nickel by three lowlifes based in a Chicago pawnshop suggests how the language and practice of American business and power politics are insidious forces in our society.John Leguizamo and Cedric The Entertainer will star.

NYMF Announces ASCAP Presented 2008 Educational Series

The ASCAP Foundation will present this year's New York Musical Theatre Festival's Educational Series at Barnes and Noble Booksellers at Lincoln Triangle (1972 Broadway at 66th Street) on September 18th, 25th and October 2nd. The Educational Series provides an opportunity for audience members and aspiring theater artists to learn directly from industry professionals. All seminars are free of charge and made possible through the generous support of The ASCAP Foundation's Irving Caesar Trust.

Joining the previously announced Richard Easton (Tony Award - Invention of Love, Noises Off) and Dana Ivey (Tony Nominations - The Rivals, Butley) are Philip Goodwin (Tartuffe), Roberta Maxwell (Othello, Merchant of Venice) and C.J. Wilson (Festen, Long Day's Journey into Night). Directed by Tony Award-winner Joseph Hardy (Child's Play), Home will play the Main Stage from August 13-24, 2008 and marks the final Main Stage production of WTF's 2008 season.

Strouse To Teach at Camp Broadway On 8/08

On Thursday August 8th Camp Broadway, Broadway's Original Summer Camp, hosts legendary composer Charles Strouse for a Masterclass on Annie and Bye, Bye Birdie. Kids ages 6 - 10 are able to participate for Annie and kids ages 10 - 16 for Bye Bye Birdie. The class will take place at Chelsea Studios (151 W 26th Street).
