LA Times The Envelope reports that Woody Allen has received his 19th screenplay nomination from the Writers Guild of America Wednesday for his romantic comedy ' Vicky Cristina Barcelona.Allen, 73, has previously won the WGA award for original screenplay for 'Annie Hall,' 'Broadway Danny Rose,' 'Hannah and Her Sisters' and 'Crimes & Misdemeanors.'
On Monday, January 12, from 7pm - 10pm, the New York Company of WICKED will host DEFYING INEQUALITY, a special benefit dance party and performance promoting equality and civil rights. Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words continues its sit-down, open-ended at the Triad Theater, 158 West 72 Street, on Monday, January 5, at 7:30pm, with a cast that includes Scott Adsit, Will Forte, Richard Kind, Eugene Pack, Dayle Reyfel, Sherri Shepherd, and Kristen Wiig.
The new comedy Sleepwalk With Me by Mike Birbiglia has announced that it is extending through March 22nd, 2009 at The Bleecker Street Theatre (45 Bleecker Street just East of Lafayette). In addition, there will now be a Saturday matinee at 4pm, which replaces the 10pm performance. Birbiglia will be a guest on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! this upcoming Tuesday January 6th.
