On Sunday November 14, MICHAEL BOTTARI & RONALD CASE will be honored with the 2010 NYMF Award for Excellence in Overall Design for 'Shine!'.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) will honor producers Barry and Fran Weissler (Chicago, Wonderful Town, La Cage Aux Folles, Scottsboro Boys) and the winners of the NYMF 2010 Awards for Excellence at the Seventh Season Awards Gala taking place on Sunday, November 14th at The Hudson Theatre (145 W. 44th Street) beginning at 6:00pm.

SHINE! The Horatio Alger Musical with a Book by Richard Seff; Music by Roger Dean Anderson and Lyrics by Lee Goldsmith continues with numerous activities. Thomas Z Shepard, the renowned cast recording producer, saw the acclaimed musical and was extremely impressed. This week he produced a 5 song demo recording with full orchestra and cast members featuring Andy Mientus. Next week the musical has been invited to Florida for the Mainstreet Musicals Festival for presentations with Hal Linden. This Sunday the show will be presented with 2010 NYMY Awards For Excellence: EXCELLENCE IN OVERALL DESIGN - Shine! Michael Bottari & Ron Case; OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE - Andy Mientus, and Honorable Mention: Peter Flynn, For Direction. The production was a Critics Pick from BackStage.

Michael Bottari & Ron Case; OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE - Andy Mientus, Shine!; and Honorable Mention: Peter Flynn, Shine! For Direction. The production was a Critics Pick from BackStage. SHINE! was presented by Other Side Productions (Peter Mercurio, Chuck Blasius - Co-Artistic Directors) as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival at The Theater at St. Clements. Directed by Peter Flynn with choreography Devanand Janki; set and costume design by Michael Bottari & Ronald Case and the lighting design by Jeff Croiter. Greg Anthony served as the music supervisor, arranger, orchestrator; Annbritt duChateau was the music director and the associate musical directors were Danny Percefull and Sue Anschultz. A multi-talented cast of 19 made this one of the largest of the festival productions. The principals were: Andy Mientus (Richard Hunter); Michael Halling (Luke Gerrish); Meggie Cansler (Stacia Jane Hauser); Jimmy Ray Bennett (Gideon Chapin); William Ryall (Silas Snobden); Stanton Nash (Higgins); Philip Chaffin (Allen Carlisle); Tyler Merna (Rob Carlisle); Dan Lawler (Foswell); Evan Jay Newman (Mickey Maguire) and Katherine McGrath (Mrs. Mooney). The Ensemble included: Jason Mills, Cheo Bourne, Todd Horman, Robert Mintz, Rachell Coloff, Jessica Vosk, Joy Hermalyn and Melissa Rain Anderson.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) has announced Directors and Musical Directors for its 22nd Annual Festival of New Musicals taking place on Thursday, October 21 and Friday, October 22, 2010 at New World Stages in New York City. NAMT is honored to continue their relationship with New World Stages for the seventh consecutive year.

Rhapsody in Seth, written by and starring Seth Rudetsky and directed by Peter Flynn, is a one-man, multi-media comedy about an obsession with high-belting Broadway divas, Gershwin's 'Rhapsody In Blue,' and growing up in Long Island's North Woodmere. The show traces Rudetsky's childhood on Long Island - where being musically talented was praised, but growing up gay wasn't - all the way to a successful Broadway musical director and comedy writer in New York City.

On Monday, September 13, The Actors Fund hosted a party for 'The Friends of The Lillian Booth Actors Home' at Gloria Crest, in Englewood, NJ, the former estate of film legend Gloria Swanson and now the home of the evening's hosts Jan and Edward Turen. The Turens welcomed Tony Award-winning actor Brian Stokes Mitchell, and the evening's entertainment host Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress Bebe Neuwirth. Emmy and Tony Award winner Leslie Uggams, Tony Award-nominated actor/singer Tom Wopat and singer-songwriter-pianist Peter Cincotti and his band, among others performed.
