75 - year old singer Tonia Tecce has made her long-delayed New York City cabaret debut last night at The Metropolitan Room. Previously, Tecce has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts Academy of Music, and sung with Peter Nero and many orchestras . Her show, A Cockeyed Optimist, Why We Believe, The Songs of Richard Rodgers, was written and directed by Michael Bush.

His songs are recognized as standards throughout the world and his music has retained its vitality and relevance through our changing times. Pia Zadora was arrested this weekend on charges of domestic violence after a tiff with her teenage son over his bedtime, according to an update by the Associated Press. BroadwayWorld reported yesterday that the Broadway and cabaret star had been arrested on suspicion of domestic battery and coercion on June 1, 2013, at her home in a suburb of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was released on bail after posting $4,000.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) today announced the integration of streams to its historic Gold & Platinum (G&P) Program, the industry's premier award for recognizing artistic achievement in the marketplace. On-demand audio and/or video song streams will now be counted towards the 500,000 (Gold), 1,000,000 (Platinum) and 2,000,000 plus (multi-Platinum) thresholds required for G&P's Digital Single Award certification.
