He steps aside from his casting projects which have included casting for HBO, 20th Century Fox, New York and regional theater. With his directing career Russell is experienced with regional firsts. He directed the regional premiere of John Guare's A FREE MAN OF COLOR in which Mr. Guare participated.

The victor was selected Sunday, November 15 at the conclusion of PFP?s Gay Film Week in the Hoover-Leppen Theatre of Center on Halsted. The weekend included enhanced staged readings of the top five scripts, including A Place in the Woods by Erik Gernand, Finndale by Lloyd Ohls, Drowning City by Chuck Griffith, and The Gay Shoe Clerks by Brad Cryan. The week also commenced on Monday, November 9 with Queer Bits Fall Film Festival II at the Public House Theatre. The festival included two programs comprised of 11 short films all having their Chicago premieres and included a talkback with Chicago filmmaker Dan Pal, whose short Another Party with Scotty was featured in the festival.
As part of STOMP's continuing 13th Birthday celebrations in London's West End, the show's producers have invited Mousetrap Theatre Projects to organise a special free schools' matinee for 13 year-olds on Monday 12 October at the Ambassadors Theatre. The performance will begin at 2.00pm, followed by a Q&A with the cast.

Celebrations began early for STOMP in London, with two record-breaking performances at the Ambassadors Theatre on Saturday 14 February. The evening show was the highest grossing performance of any production in the 102-year history of the theatre. It was also the highest grossing Saturday matinee in the theatre's history, meaning Box Office records were broken twice on Valentine's Day.

English Touring Theatre, which is celebrating its 21st birthday throughout 2014, is delighted to announce the full casting for its upcoming revival of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre's critically acclaimed production of Howard Brenton's Eternal Love, formerly titled In Extremis.
Crowe and Keith Rodger will executive produce the project via their Fear of God production company, along with Romilda De Luca. Andrea Leone Films will also co-produce.
