ABSOLUTELY FILTHY to Play the FringeNYC Encore Series at SoHo Playhouse, 10/1-5

Following its celebrated East Coast premiere at the 2014 New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), the critically acclaimed ABSOLUTELY FILTHY will return to NYC as part of SoHo Playhouse's FringeNYC ENCORE SERIES with performances from October 1st through October 5th only at SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street between Varick and Spring Streets).

SUBMISSIONS ONLY's Kate Wetherhead Stars in THE HEIDI CHRONICLES, Beginning Tonight at the Guthrie

The Guthrie Theater presents the first production on the Wurtele Thrust Stage in the 2014-2015 season, Wendy Wasserstein's Pulitzer Prize-winning play The Heidi Chronicles. Under the direction of 2014 Tony Award nominee Leigh Silverman (Broadway's Violet, Chinglish, Well), The Heidi Chronicles will feature the talents of Kate Wetherhead, Ben Graney, Tracey Maloney and Zach Shaffer, as well as Sam Bardwell, Eleonore Dendy, Mo Perry and Stacia Rice.

59E59 Theaters welcomed Chicago's A Red Orchid Theatre, in association with Bisno Productions, with the NYC premiere of THE OPPONENT, written by Brett Neveu and directed by Karen Kessler. THE OPPONENT began performances on Thursday, July 31 for a limited engagement through Sunday, September 7. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Neil Labute's AUTOBAHN Comes to the King's Head Theatre, Now thru Sept 20

Regarded as one of the most celebrated American playwrights, Neil LaBute has enthralled audiences all over the world with his layered characters, sharp dialogue and subtle social commentaries. Now, in a London premiere, acclaimed American theatre company Savio(u)r will present his play Autobahn, directed by Off-West End Award nominee Tim Sullivan.

Like, Totally! Amy Heckerling Working on Musical Adaptation of CLUELESS; Katy Perry to Star?

According to Vulture, Clueless director Amy Heckerling revealed that she is currenly in the "really, really, early, early stages" of creating a musical version of the hit 1995 film. Heckerling has written both a book and song lyrics for the show herself, and she even has a star in mind. She told Vulture: "Katy Perry has expressed interest, and I love her to death." She continued: "Maybe Iggy [Azalea] wants to do it!"

Chicago's A Red Orchid Theatre and Bisno Productions Launch New Partnership

A Red Orchid Theatre (Kirsten Fitzgerald, Artistic Director; Rebecca Easton, Managing Director), Chicago's critically acclaimed resident theater company, in association with Bisno Productions (Debbie Bisno, Roberta Pereira), have announced the launch of a new collaborative partnership, A Red Orchid NYC. The newly launched initiative, here in New York, fulfills the expanded mission of the Chicago based company to introduce the Ensemble's original new works to a national audience.
