Every year, the North Carolina Symphony and its small ensembles present over 45 free education performances to elementary and middle school-age students across North Carolina. The series forms the core of the most extensive education program of any U.S. orchestra.
Rachel York will join Megan Hilty in the Encores! production of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, opening May 9 at New York City Center. York will play the brunette, Dorothy Shaw, best friend of Lorelei, the diamond-loving blonde played by Hilty. Gentlemen Prefer Blondes will be directed by John Rando with music direction by Rob Berman and choreography by Randy Skinner and will play for seven performances, May 9 - 13, at New York City Center, 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues.
Westchester Broadway Theatre will host a fundraising event on April 5th, 2012, to help raise awareness about the work being done to support people affected by breast cancer. On the occasion of our new show, Legally Blonde, the theatre will donate $13.00 for every regular full price ticket sold for the evening performance, to Support Connection. On April 2, 2012, at New York's Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center, musical artists and stars will come together to show their support for a special evening billed as "A Celebration of Paul Newman's Dream," to benefit Paul Newman's Association of Hole in the Wall Camps. The event will feature performances by world-renowned performing artists, the campers themselves and a special announcement about the Association's global network of camps. Performances will include GRAMMY-winning and GRAMMY-nominated musicians: Josh Groban, Paul Simon and Trisha Yearwood, as well as additional surprise musical performances throughout the evening and appearances by Jake Gyllenhaal and Jimmy Fallon, with more to be announced. Ticket sales from the evening - which is supported by Newman's Own Foundation and hosted by Joanne Woodward, produced by Kevin Duncan and directed by Josh Rhodes - will benefit Paul Newman's family of camps and programs supporting children facing serious illnesses from around the world.

Today we are talking to a star of many notable films and television shows who initially surprised many viewers with his commanding presence as the voice of the Beast in Disney's classic animated film BEAUTY & THE BEAST, now back in theaters for its twentieth anniversary (in 3D) - the one and only Robby Benson. In addition to telling us all about his impressions of and experiences working on BEAUTY & THE BEAST and what he thinks of the new 3D movie experience, he also shares his affection for co-stars Angela Lansbury and Paige O'Hara - both having been previous InDepth InterView participants, as well - and what the storied legacy of the film means to him.
