Newman & Oltman Guitar Duo Will Perform at U Of WI Milwaukee Next Week

The Newman & Oltman Guitar Duo will perform a recital of works by Brouwer, Manuel de Falla, Enrique Granados and Isaac Albeniz, on Friday, April 1 at 7:30 P.M. Central Time as a part of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee's Guitar Series. This free live performance will take place at the UWM Music Recital Hall, 2400 East Kenwood Blvd. in Milwaukee.

Lyric Opera Of Kansas City Announces 2022 - 2023 Season

The season includes four mainstage productions at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, Carmen, La traviata, The Shining, and Sondheim on Sondheim in addition to live performances of the holiday classic, Amahl and the Night Visitors and the Kansas City premiere of Listen, Wilhelmina!, an imaginative children's opera at the Michael and Ginger Frost Production Arts Building. All Kauffman Center performances will be accompanied by the Kansas City Symphony.

Carnegie Hall and Music Kitchen to Present FORGOTTEN VOICES

On March 31 at 7:30 p.m. in Zankel Hall, Carnegie Hall in association with Music Kitchen–Food for the Soul w ill present Forgotten Voices, a composite song cycle written by top emerging and established composers with text created by homeless-shelter participants set to music.

BWW Review: My Desert Island (and 92nd St. Y) All-Time Dream Team – Brownlee, Spyres and Rossini

Oh, sure, give us Missy Mazzoli, Nico Muhly, Laura Kaminsky, Kevin Puts, Terence Blanchard, Paul Moravec, Huang Ruo and all the other fabulous composers at work today. But let’s talk about Rossini--and it’s hard for anyone who attended the concert the other night at New York’s 92nd Street Y not to. With tenor Lawrence Brownlee, (bari)tenor Michael Spyres and pianist Myra Huang presenting us with a dizzying array of what Brownlee called “barnburner pieces, back to back,” there was not much more to do than stand up and scream for more.

The American Opera Project Presents The Second Season Of Music As The Message

North Carolina Opera Announces 2021-22 Season

North Carolina Opera's General Director, Eric Mitchko has announced the company's upcoming 2021-22 season. The season will open on November 14 with Beethoven's only opera FIDELIO, followed by two timeless classics, Puccini's LA BOHÈME (Jan. 28 & 30) and Mozart's THE MAGIC FLUTE (Apr. 8 & 10).
