On Friday, March 8th, the Los Angeles Book Festival honored the 2012-2013 book award recipients at the site of the first Academy Awards at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, California. Janet Pucino's 2013 release of 'Not In The Club: An Executive Woman's Journey Through the Biased World of Business' was the business category winner for this year's festival. Award winners and honorees gathered from across the globe to acknowledge and celebrate the accomplishments of their fellow writers and illustrators during an inspiring night which included a live performance from the world renowned composer Thomas Dolby accompanying his new film, 'The Invisible Lighthouse.'

Do you know what a paraplegic, a wolf, a fairy, two pregnant teens and a dancing hooker have in common? Neither do I! But that's what the current show "The Skriker" at the Erickson Theatre offered up in director Janice Findley's imagining of Caryl Churchill's creepy look at a world filled with magical spirits seducing young unwed mothers. And after seeing the show I can honestly say I STILL have no idea what they have in common.
