Stable Cable Lab Co. to Present ACCIDENTS WAITING TO HAPPEN, 5/28-6/8

Stable Cable Lab Co. and Vera Khodasevich announce the cast and creative team for the workshop production of Accidents Waiting to Happen, a play by Jonathan Libman, directed by Padraic Lillis. Invited presentations for Accidents Waiting to Happen will begin on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at IRT Theater and are scheduled to run through Sunday, June 8, 2014. The results of the workshop production - including the actors' experience with the work, the aesthetics of the director and designers, and the audience's feedback - will be invaluable to the development of this new play. This project was developed, in part, through Kori Rushton and the IRT 3B Development Series.

The Farm Theater Announces 2014 Training Camp

The Farm Theater announces Training Camp 2014, a program that focuses on the development of pre-professional and early career theater artists. Training Camp will be held at Elmira College on August 4 through August 10. The Farm is seeking a diverse ensemble of sixteen theater artists to participate in this weeklong intensive, which will include classes in acting, writing, ensemble collaboration, and directing.

The Farm Theater (Padraic Lillis, Artistic Director) will launch its innovative programming Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at The Wild Project (195 East 3rd Street, New York City). The event will present Brian Luna's award-winning solo show 7th and 11th Dimensions followed by the announcement of the company's College Collaboration project.

Kelly Kinsella's WHEN THOUGHTS ATTACK to Begin Limited Run at The Cell, 11/3

Writer, actor and comedian Kelly Kinsella is set to bring her hilarious one-woman play WHEN THOUGHTS ATTACK to NYC's the cell: A Twenty First Century Salon (338 West 23rd Street) for a limited 8-week run beginning on Sunday, 11/3 at 7pm. In this honest and funny show about anxiety, Kinsella begs to answer the question 'Is everyone crazy or is it just me?'

On Monday, September 30, 2013, The New York Innovative Theatre Awards (IT Awards), the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway,and host comedian and Andy Kauffman Award winner, Harrison Greenbaum, announced the 2013 award recipients at the ninth Annual IT Awards Ceremony atMason Hall @ Baruch Performing Arts Center, 17 Lexingont Avenue, NYC. The ceremony was directed by Tim Butterfield, Artistic Director of the Straphanger Collective, and written by playwright Donnetta Lavinia Grays, 2013 Doric Wilson Independent Playwright Award recipient. As part of the New York International Fringe Festival, Lee J. Kaplan brings his powerful solo show BULLY to NYC at The Steve & Marie Sgouros Theatre(115 MacDougal Street, formerly The Players Theatre Loft) beginning today, August 10 to August 21. Inspired by entries in Lee's sixth-grade journal, in the multi-character play he returns to the scene of the crime for the fight of his life, calling to the ring those who subjected him to unrelenting bullying attacks.

This year 14 students were selected from dozens of applicants from across the United States to participate in the 2013 Young Playwrights, Inc. Urban Retreat. The Urban Retreat is a nine day intensive in New York City that culminates in a staged reading off-broadway at the Lucille Lortell Theatre. The 2013 Urban Retreat Young Playwrights are: Ari Bell, Leah Bell, Jacqueline Crispino, Frank Garland, Jordan Eli Goldberg, Candace Hartsuyker, Leah Lane, Mollie Lipkowitz, Erin Neitzel, Dahlia Pham, Melina Schmidt, William Stieglitz, Irene Tapert, and Connor Woods.

Spookfish Theatre Company will present the world premiere of Pornography for the People, a new political drama by Ming Peiffer about sex, surveillance and censorship, today, August 26, 2012 through Friday, September 2, 2012 - at the Theatre for the New City, (155 1st Avenue, NYC). The production is part of the Dream Up Festival: Theater For The New City's Summer Showcase. Directed by Kat Yen.
