Broadway Pops International (BPI) presents A RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN CELEBRATION at the Batte Center at Wingate University in Wingate, NC on April 1st at 8:00pm.

Broadway has given the world some of it's greatest songs, but the Broadway beginnings of some classics aren't known to all.

? At an exclusive event last night for subscribers, donors and members of the press, Tony Award-winning Trinity Repertory Company, under the leadership of Richard L. Bready Artistic Director Curt Columbus announced their 2016-2017 season: Ghosts of the Past, Dreams of the Future.

Malcolm Sinclair (Capt. Andy Hawks) and Chris Peluso (Gaylord Ravenal) will join original Sheffield cast members Gina Beck (Magnolia Hawks), Lucy Briers (Parthy Ann Hawks), Rebecca Trehearn (Julia La Verne), Emmanuel Kojo(Joe), Sandra Marvin (Queenie), Alex Young (Ellie May Chipley) and Danny Collins (Frank Schultz) in the West End cast of Daniel Evans' five star production of Show Boat.

Veteran cabaret performer Richard Holbrook peppers his show, 'Sings Richard Rodgers With a Lot of Hart' (at the Metropolitan Room this past Monday night) with facts about Rodgers' life and career. It's obvious the performer feels strongly about his subject's work. Unfortunately, the same energy, volume, and mood predominate throughout. Arrangements are highly similar. Holbrook's musical self consciousness overrides lyric content. His show presents spirit and heart, but inadequate direction.

Fiddlehead Theatre Company will present Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II's 1927 masterpiece SHOW BOAT at the Citi Performing Arts Center Shubert Theatre, 265 Tremont Street, Boston, from June 22-July 3, 2016.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) and Columbia University School of the Arts (Carol Becker, Dean of Faculty) have just announced Columbia@Roundabout, an initiative aimed at educating and developing the next generation of playwrights and theatre administrators, as both institutions celebrate their 50th anniversaries. No other collaborative partnership in the New York area brings together an esteemed Ivy League MFA program with a Tony Award- winning not-for-profit theatre. The initiative is made possible by a grant from the Tow Foundation.

The Sunday April 24, 3:00pm matinee performance of Lincoln Center Theater's Tony Award-winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65th Street, NYC) completes the fifth season of autism-friendly performances presented by TDF's Autism Theatre Initiative (ATI). The other autism-friendly performances of Broadway shows this season are The Lion King (September 27, 2015), Wicked (February 7, 2016) and Aladdin (March 6, 2016).
