From the sun baked Oklahoma Territory at the turn of the 20th century comes the Broadway classic, Oklahoma!, beginning April 11 with a press opening on Wednesday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m. at 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire. Due to high demand, an additional week is now on sale through June 10. Featuring a powerful score by legendary duo Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, and based on Lynn Riggs' 1931 play, Green Grow the Lilacs, Oklahoma! will be directed by Artistic Director and Jeff Award-winner Aaron Thielen (She Loves Me, Spring Awakening). Jeff Award nominee Alex Sanchez (Marriott Theatre: Newsies, Evita, On the Town, Mary Poppins) will choreograph, with Musical Direction and orchestrations by Jeff Award winner Ryan T. Nelson.

Dean John-Wilson (who starred in the title role of Disney's original West End production of Aladdin) and Na-Young Jeon (Fantine in Les Miserables in the West End and Gigi in Miss Saigon on world tour) join the West End cast of THE KING AND I as the young lovers, Lun Tha and Tuptim. They will join Tony Award winner and "Broadway musical's undisputed Queen" (Sunday Times) Kelli O'Hara as Anna, Tony and Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe as The King and Tony award-winning Ruthie Ann Miles as Lady Thiang. Rodgers & Hammerstein's multi-award winning musical transfers from Broadway to the London Palladium on 21 June (Press Night 3 July).

Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II's first musical, Oklahoma!, opened on Broadway on March 31, 1943, and will mark its 75th anniversary this spring. That show, along with Carousel (whose new Broadway revival opens on April 12), South Pacific, The King and I, and The Sound of Music firmly established Rodgers and Hammerstein at the apex of the great age of the American Songbook.

The MTH Theater at Crown Center is pleased to announce casting for its first show of its 16th Season, BROADWAY'S GOLDEN AGE. An MTH original production, the show is helmed by respected Kansas City Theater Artist Julie Shaw, who makes her MTH directorial debut with this production. Interestingly, that is not the way he sees himself. He is well-trained as a musical composer, having, from a young age, been the prodigy of Oscar Hammerstein II. Yes, the composer of such mega hits as 'Oklahoma,' 'South Pacific' and 'Sound of Music.'

Los Altos Hills will be alive with The Sound of Music this summer, when multi-award winning Foothill Music Theatre presents the Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award-winning musical. This beloved musical, set in Austria in 1938, follows novice Maria Rainer who becomes the governess for the Von Trapp family, capturing the hearts of the seven children and their father, a widowed naval captain. As the Nazis occupy Austria, the family is forced make decisions which forever change their lives, fleeing their home for Switzerland in pursuit of freedom.

The Lost Treasures Collection, a series of rarely performed musical gems, is back for a eighth season at Lakewood Theatre Company. This year three musicals featuring the theme "Enchanted Evenings" with music by Richard Rodgers, will be presented in a concert/cabaret style. The second offering of the series, Pipe Dream, will have only three performances: Friday, February 16 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, February 17 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Lakewood's production is directed by Ron Daum and the musical director is Beth Noelle. Performances are on Lakewood's Side Door stage at Lakewood Center for the Arts in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
