The Marriott Theatre Announces Casting For OKLAHOMA!

From the sun baked Oklahoma Territory at the turn of the 20th century comes the Broadway classic, Oklahoma!, beginning April 11 with a press opening on Wednesday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m. at 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire. Due to high demand, an additional week is now on sale through June 10. Featuring a powerful score by legendary duo Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, and based on Lynn Riggs' 1931 play, Green Grow the Lilacs, Oklahoma! will be directed by Artistic Director and Jeff Award-winner Aaron Thielen (She Loves Me, Spring Awakening). Jeff Award nominee Alex Sanchez (Marriott Theatre: Newsies, Evita, On the Town, Mary Poppins) will choreograph, with Musical Direction and orchestrations by Jeff Award winner Ryan T. Nelson.
THE KING AND I Announces New Casting and Final Booking Period Extension

Dean John-Wilson (who starred in the title role of Disney's original West End production of Aladdin) and Na-Young Jeon (Fantine in Les Miserables in the West End and Gigi in Miss Saigon on world tour) join the West End cast of THE KING AND I as the young lovers, Lun Tha and Tuptim. They will join Tony Award winner and "Broadway musical's undisputed Queen" (Sunday Times) Kelli O'Hara as Anna, Tony and Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe as The King and Tony award-winning Ruthie Ann Miles as Lady Thiang. Rodgers & Hammerstein's multi-award winning musical transfers from Broadway to the London Palladium on 21 June (Press Night 3 July).

LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & McCOY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT present the fourth show of its 2017-2018 season (and the 40th anniversary of the iconic theatre) with SOUTH PACIFIC, book by Oscar Hammerstein II and Joshua Logan (adapted from the Pulitzer Prize winning novel 'Tales of the South Pacific' by James A. Michener), music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, with musical direction by Brent Crayon, choreography by Peggy Hickey and directed by Glenn Casale. An MTH original production, the show is helmed by respected Kansas City Theater Artist Julie Shaw, who makes her MTH directorial debut with this production. Stephen Sondheim, who wrote the music and lyrics for 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,' which is now in production at Blank Canvas, is noted as a brilliant lyricist. Interestingly, that is not the way he sees himself. He is well-trained as a musical composer, having, from a young age, been the prodigy of Oscar Hammerstein II. PIPE DREAM, A Rodgers And Hammerstein Musical, Comes to Lakewood Theatre Company

The Lost Treasures Collection, a series of rarely performed musical gems, is back for a eighth season at Lakewood Theatre Company. This year three musicals featuring the theme "Enchanted Evenings" with music by Richard Rodgers, will be presented in a concert/cabaret style. The second offering of the series, Pipe Dream, will have only three performances: Friday, February 16 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, February 17 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Lakewood's production is directed by Ron Daum and the musical director is Beth Noelle. Performances are on Lakewood's Side Door stage at Lakewood Center for the Arts in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The series sponsor is Fritz Camp, and the curatorial sponsors are Jaye W. Taylor, Rob Le Chevallier & Buckley Law P.C.
