Repertory Philippines (LITTLE WOMEN, EQUUS), the country's premier English-language theater company, opened its five-month run of Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahren's Tony Award-nominated children's musical, SEUSSICAL, yesterday at the Onstage Theatre, Greenbelt 1, Makati City. The musical runs until December 11.

The cast of Repertory Philippines' upcoming production of Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahren's SEUSSICAL recently performed an excerpt from the Broadway musical on ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC). SEUSSICAL runs from August 13 to December 11 at the Onstage Theatre, Greenbelt 1, Makati City.

Two time Tony Award-winning actress, Sutton Foster, flashed a photo of her holding a dainty graphic illustration that rounded up her characters from past and current Broadway shows -- from Millie Dillmount in THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE to Reno Sweeney in ANYTHING GOES -- on her Twitter account yesterday. Dianne Louise Dequino, a 17-year-old Computer Science and Information Technology student and a budding photographer and graphic artist from the Philippines, made the illustration.

BroadwayWorld.com has been following the progress of Broadway-bound musical, ALLEGIANCE, since its first reading in Los Angeles two years ago up to its final workshop presentation held at the Baryshnikov Arts Center yesterday. What we just saw certainly bore little likeness to its initial working draft while some aspects of the production have remained the same, like its central story on the Japanese American experience during and after the World War II internment; and its composer and lyricist Jay Kuo's uplifting and emotionally charged music and lyrics.

The audience came to a stand still when stage actor Bryan Donovan -- who's channeling the cold and intimidating Sister Aloysius (Doubt) in a nun's black habit and hood -- made a grand entrance through the audience at the recent New York debut of STREEP TEASE, an evening of monologues culled from Meryl Streep's current database of 49 movies performed with an all-male cast.
