Peculiar Works Project and Fraunces Tavern Museum announce their unique collaboration for the World Premiere of 'Androboros: Villain of the State,' America's first published play written in 1714 by Robert Hunter and adapted for today by S.M. Dale.

Thinking Time tells the story of two young women who are in the same predicament, although they are divided by several generations: young Nina is infatuated with a Roma street musician and Nina's grandmother, Ruth, remembers her love for a Nazi officer during German occupied Norway in 1942. 

 Peculiar Works Project announces a new site-specific, political farce: Androboros: Villain of the State, a 1-hour adaptation of America's first play in celebration of its 300th Anniversary. In this contemporary staging - in an actual boxing ring - characters inspired by today's political leaders will metaphorically slug it out just days before Americans go to vote. This is a rare opportunity to see an American first in a unique sett ng during an extraordinary election season - right for theater lovers and politics haters!

On Sunday, September 22 New Georges held their BIG Benefit at Seamen's House, a private townhouse in Chelsea. The fundraiser featured a special performance by Eisa Davis and short plays and songs written specifically for the event by Laura Eason, Boo Killebrew, Julie Kramer, Rachel Peters and Charise Castro Smith, featuring Heidi Schreck, Maria-Christina Oliveras, Amy Wilson, Stephanie Wright Thompson, Eric Clem and others. Scandinavian American Theater Company will present the US Premiere of GORILLA by Rhea Leman. The Danish premiere was just nominated for the 2013 Reumert Award (the Danish equivalent of the Tony Award) for Best Playwrighting. Directed by Ari Edelson, previews begin May 24 at the Lion Theatre at Theatre Row. Opening is slated for May 30.
