GOD OF CARNAGE Kicks Off Perseverance Theatre's 35th Season Tonight

Perseverance Theatre opens its 35th season with the 2009 Tony Award winner for Best Play, Yasmina Reza's God of Carnage translated by Christopher Hampton. The production plays from Sep. 13-Oct. 6, 2013 on the Perseverance Theatre Mainstage. Tickets are available now through Hearthside Books, at the JACC, online at perseverancetheatre.org or by calling 907-463-TIXS (8497). There are two Pay-As-You-Can Performances today, September 15 and Thursday, September 19 at 7:30 p.m. and two Pay-As-You-Can Previews today, September 8 and Wednesday, September 11 at 7:30 p.m.

Jungle Theater Presents FOOL FOR LOVE, Now thru 10/20

This fall, the Jungle Theater remounts one of its most requested productions, Sam's Shepard's FOOL FOR LOVE, designed and directed by Artistic Director Bain Boehlke. The explosive tale of doomed love and loss is set in a seedy motel on The Edge of the Mojave desert where transient lovers May and Eddie engage in a ruthless struggle for power and truth. Fool for Love opens tonight, September 6 and runs through October 20 at the Jungle Theater, 2951 Lyndale Av. S. in Minneapolis.

KNUFFLE BUNNY, TARZAN and More Set for The Rose Theater's 2013-14 Season

The Rose Theater, one of the country's largest theaters specializing in professional productions for young audiences, will present nine shows for the 2013-14 season. Included are two world premieres, Leo Lionni's Frederick, a musical based on the popular 1968 children's book, and The Grocer's Goblin & The Little Mermaid adapted from two Hans Christen Andersen tales by Rose Playwright-in-Residence Brian Guehring and Rose Director of Youth Productions Stephanie Jacobson.

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and Boston Landmarks Orchestra will present a concert version of Cole Porter's Kiss Me Kate with Broadway's Marc Kudisch* as Fred Graham/Patruchio and Kerry O'Malley* as Lilli Vanessi/Katherine. Steven Maler, Founding Artistic Director of Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and Associate Artistic Director, Adam Sanders, will direct with Boston Landmark Orchestra's Music Director Christopher Wilkins, conducting.
