David Mamet's 'Glengarry Glen Ross' pulls no punches and draws the audience straight into the story of four struggling real estate salesmen in 1980's corporate Chicago.
David Mamet's play, Glengarry Glen Ross, debuted at the National Theatre in London in 1983 to critical acclaim, winning the Pulitzer Prize the following year, in addition to opening the production on Broadway. The play recently enjoyed a successful run at the Playhouse Theatre in London, directed by Sam Yates (who also directs this UK tour) and featured a star-studded ensemble cast.
Joining the hard-hitting sales team in Sam Yates' unmissable production of David Mamet's darkly funny classic, Glengarry Glen Ross are: Denis Conway(The Lieutenant of Inishmore) as Dave Moss; Wil Johnson (Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead) as George Aaronow; Scott Sparrow (King Lear) as John Williamson; James Staddon (Goodnight Mister Tom) as James Lingk; and Zephryn Taitte (The Jungle Book) as Baylen. They join the previously announced Mark Benton (Shelly 'The Machine' Levene) and Nigel Harman (Ricky Roma).
West End favourite Jenna Russell made a surprisingly belated solo concert debut at Leicester Square Theatre, but, judging by this entirely winning performance, she's a natural. Seth Rudetsky, unparalleled master of the format, was on hand to accompany and guide her through a superlative set-list, as well as draw out anecdotes both deliciously foul-mouthed and funny, and unexpectedly moving.

Returning to the city where the very first UK tour started, audiences have just three weeks left to see the critically and publicly acclaimed production which opens tonight at Leeds Grand Theatre and must end on 6 January 2019.

Based on Daniel Wallace's novel and Tim Burton's 2003 film adaptation, this musical is quite the oddity. Screenwriter John August has tinkered with the book since its brief Broadway run in 2013, but it remains an unfathomable mixture of magical and mawkish, whimsy and desolation.
