The weekend begins today, August 24th (12noon - 9PM) with Music Mountain's first annual Folk Music Jamboree - a full day of music, crafts, and food! The chamber music continues on Sunday, August 25th when Cassatt String Quartet performs Shostakovich, Beethoven, and Faure with Ursula Oppens, piano. This weekend is an example of the continued commitment Music Mountain strives for to bring new music to the Falls Village community. The summer season has featured never before performed works and new collaborations. Concerts at Gordon Hall are scheduled through September 8.

America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, Music Mountain will celebrate its 84th Anniversary Season starting June 16th, with a 12-week schedule featuring seventeen Chamber Music concerts, a twilight series of Jazz, Big Band and Country Music concerts, a unique evening devoted to Gilbert & Sullivan and the first ever Folk Music Jamboree. '2013 is going to be another great year at Music Mountain," stated Music Mountain's board president Nicholas Gordon. "The season opens with the extraordinary cellist Matt Haimowitz in a sonata program [and] continues with wonderful quartets and impressive assisting artists. Our theme this year is 'Seldom Played Works by Celebrated Composers'; an example of this is the Bartok Piano Quintet (July 14), which has never been performed before at Music Mountain and the Dohnanyi Piano Quintet # 2 in E Flat Major (August 10), last played here in 1941."

America's Oldest Continuing Summer Chamber Music Festival, Music Mountain has released its end-of-season statistics and is happy to report a 7% attendance increase for its acclaimed string quartet concerts up from the previous year. The 83rd season saw the fourth consecutive year of increased attendance to its nationally recognized schedule featuring 16 world class chamber concerts. From 2009, Music Mountain's attendance has increased 14.6% and revenue has increased 25%.

America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, Music Mountain will celebrate its 82nd anniversary season starting June 19th. The season will feature sixteen Chamber music concerts, a series of Jazz and Country Music concerts, and a number of special events slated through September 4th. 'This summer is about two things - great music and extraordinary quality of performance' stated Music Mountain's board president Nicholas Gordon. 'The concerts will feature memorable works that range from those never before played at our yearly festival to audience favorites, heard many times over the years.' Located in the northwest corner of Connecticut in the town of Falls Village, Gordon has again arranged for some of the most exciting talent from around the world to grace the Music Mountain stage-prompting The New Yorker Magazine to acknowledge Music Mountain as 'The summer shrine of the String Quartet.'
