Playwrights Horizons Presents MRS. SHARP Readings, Starring Krakowski And Borle, 7/30-31

Playwrights Horizons will present private readings of MRS. SHARP, a new musical with Book by Kirsten Guenther and Music & Lyrics by Jonathan Larson Grant recipient Ryan Scott Oliver. Directed by three-time Tony Award nominee and Playwrights Horizons alumnus Michael Greif (Grey Gardens, Next to Normal, Rent), the invitation-only readings will take place on Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31 at Playwrights Horizons (416 West 42nd Street).

NYTB At The Duplex Announces Their July Installment With Blair, Burgess, Carbonell And More 7/27

Today, Monday July 27th, New York Theatre Barn will present NYTB @ The Duplex, the monthly cabaret series that highlights new composers, lyricists, and performers. The July installment of NYTB at the Duplex features the talents of Julia Meinwald (composer) as well as the writing team of Anna K. Jacobs and Maggie-Kate Coleman (authors of the new musical Pop!).

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) today announced a principal cast change for the private readings of MRS. SHARP, a new musical (Winner of the Richard Rodgers Award for Staged Readings, administered by the American Academy of Arts and Letters) with Book by Kirsten Guenther and Music & Lyrics by Jonathan Larson Grant recipient Ryan Scott Oliver. Directed by three-time Tony Award nominee and Playwrights Horizons alumnus Michael Greif (Grey Gardens, Next to Normal, Rent), the four invitation-only readings will take place over two days on Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31 at Playwrights Horizons (416 West 42nd Street).

Yale Repertory Theatre Presents POP 11/27-12/19

YALE REPERTORY THEATRE (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) will present the world premiere of POP!, a new musical with book and lyrics by Maggie-Kate Coleman and music by Anna K. Jacobs, directed by Mark Brokaw, at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street), November 27-December 19, 2009. Opening Night is December 3.

CHILD OF HUNGRY TIMES Digs Into Censored Writing, Plays Planet Connections Fest

CHILD OF HUNGRY TIMES will get its New York premiere during the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, running June 11th-28th at 440 Studios. CHILD OF HUNGRY TIMES is a one woman show written and performed by Bridget Bailey, and is based on the writings of one of Russia's most prolific and dangerous writers, Ludmila Petrushevskaya, who was heavily censored during the Soviet Union era. Jay O'Berski is serving as director for the production, and New York Theatre Barn is presenting the work at the Planet Connections Festivity.

Planet Connections Theater Festivity Announces Show Lineup With 35 Premieres

Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, a new eco-friendly festival designed to promote social and cultural awareness in the theatrical community, launches with 35 premieres in June 2009.
