The Acting Company's 44th National Tour Pairs Shakespeare & Malcolm X

The Acting Company announces its 2016-17 season and 44th national tour featuring two new gripping dramas in repertory -- the world premiere of Marcus Gardley's X and William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Both will be staged in an exciting artistic and educational collaboration with nearly 30 universities, colleges and community partners. The Company also has announced a five month, monthly Monday night Salon Reading Series in New York City.

New York, New York: National Alliance for Musical Theatre (Betsy King Militello, Executive Director) is thrilled to announce the first round of casting for the 28th Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS, which takes place on Today, October 27 and Friday, October 28, 2016 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). The Festival will kick off on Wednesday, October 26 with its celebrated concert, The 46th Minute, which features songs from Festival shows you will not get to hear in the 45-minute presentation.

Franz Xaver Kroetz's Presents Poignant Cultural Critique, REQUEST CONCERT

Director Yana Ross makes her BAM debut with Franz XaverKroetz's poignant cultural critique, Request Concert. The play consists only of stage directions, nodialogue. The sole character is a 50-year-old middle class woman who lives alone in an overly tidyapartment. She comes home from work, prepares dinner, does the laundry, watches TV, and listensto a radio program. Surrounded by Ikea furniture and brand-name appliances, acclaimed Polishactress Danuta Stenka infuses these actions with an increasing sense of loneliness and futility.Request Concert explores the devastating circumstances of life in a world that values objects overpeople. Staged in the round, the audience is invited to walk around the set and observe the production from all angles.

The Kitchen Welcomes Lesley Flanigan and Lucky Dragons as Part of Synth Night Series

The Kitchen will present the next installment of Synth Nights, its series devoted to the live performance of electronic music, on December 3 with composer, Lesley Flanigan and LA-based Lucky Dragons. A vocalist and instrument builder whose work reflects an elemental approach to her medium, Lesley Flanigan performs new work with handmade speaker feedback instruments alongside amplified voice, creating an intimate connection between gesture and sound-a kind of physical electronic music. Her work has been presented at venues and festivals internationally, including Sonar (Barcelona), The Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park (Chicago), the Guggenheim Museum (New York), ISSUE Project Room (Brooklyn), The Stone (New York), TransitioMX (Mexico City), CMKY Festival (Boulder), the Roskilde Museum of Contemporary Art (Denmark) and KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin.

Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company to Present NYC Premiere of ANALOGY TRILOGY

The Joyce Theater Foundation in association with New York Live Arts present MacArthur Genius Award and National Medal of Arts recipient Bill T. Jones and his company performing parts one and two of Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company's new dance theatre work, Analogy Trilogy.

A Letter to My Nephew, MacArthur Genius Award and National Medal of Arts choreographer Bill T. Jones's latest work, makes its U.S. premiere at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) Boston.
