New York Live Arts Announces 2017-2018 Season

New York Live Arts, under the artistic leadership of MacArthur Genius Award and National Medal of Arts awardee Artistic Director Bill T. Jones and Associate Artistic Director Janet Wong, announced the organization's 2017-2018 season today.

FIAF Announces 2017 Crossing the Line Festival Lineup

The French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF), New York's premiere French cultural center, has announced the Crossing the Line Festival 2017, the eleventh annual edition of its path-breaking fall arts festival.

BRIC Partners with Dekalb Market Hall on Large Scale Mural Project

BRIC has partneredwith DeKalb Market Hall (445 Albee Square West, Brooklyn), the borough's largest market hall and culinary center, to install large-scale murals by Brooklyn-based visual artists. Columbian artist Tatiana Arocha, who is best known for placing hundreds of bird cut-outs throughout the borough as a public art commentary on climate change; Nigerian-born Olalekan Jeyifous, whose 50-foot "Crown Ether" sculpture was featured at this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival; and Cern, whose Fort Greene "Comandante Biggie" mural paid controversial homage to the late rapper Biggie Smalls, have each created a mural that will remain on view indefinitely at DeKalb Market Hall.

Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College announces the 2017-18 Jazz Series at the Kumble Theater at LIU Brooklyn as part of its 2017-18 season, celebrating a truly American musical genre with world-class artists that represent both classics from the past and today's more innovative and ever-changing sounds.

Dance Now Announces 2017 DANCE NOW Festival, 9/6-9 at Joe's Pub

DANCE NOW is pleased to announce the lineup for the 2017 DANCE NOW Festival. Acclaimed for its adventurous short-takes format, the annual DANCE NOW Festival presents an eclectic array of works by some of today's most exciting dance makers. The 22nd season of this exuberant showcase will feature 40 emerging and established choreographers side by side, including DANCE NOW veterans and festival newcomers. The 2017 festival will take place Wednesday to Saturday, September 6-9, at 7pm, at Joe's Pub at The Public. A special encore performance will be presented on Thursday, September 28, at 7pm.  

Young Dancemakers Company Comes to the NYC Boroughs This July

Young Dancemakers Company is a unique summer ensemble of ethnically diverse New York City teens, creating and performing their original choreography in free concerts at prominent theaters city-wide, July 26 through August 5th.  YDC will present its 22nd season of topical, bold, and witty dances, created under the experienced eyes of founder and Bessie-award winner Alice Teirstein and music director William Catanzaro.  All performances end with the lively 'Dance With Us,' in which audience members with dancing feet are invited onto the stage to improvise with the dancers, accompanied by percussionist Catanzaro.

FIAF and French Comedy Festival present BROADWAY COMEDY NIGHT

The French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF) and the French Comedy Festival are thrilled to present Broadway Comedy Night, the closing night of the second annual French Comedy Festival, and the only night all in English on Saturday, June 24 at 9:30pm in FIAF's Florence Gould Hall.
