Robert O'Hara's MANKIND Begins Tomorrow at Playwrights Horizons

A friendly reminder that previews begin tomorrow, Friday, December 15 at 8PM for the Playwrights Horizons world premiere production of Mankind, a new play written and directed by two-time Obie Award winner Robert O'Hara (Bootycandy, Bella: An American Tall Tale at Playwrights; Barbecue, In the Continuum, The Brother/Sister Plays).

Vineyard Theatre Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern announce that the critically acclaimed world premiere production of HARRY CLARKE by Obie Award-winner David Cale (LILLIAN), directed by Obie Award-winner Leigh Silverman (VIOLET) and starring Tony Award-winner Billy Crudup (THE COAST OF UTOPIA, Spotlight, Vineyard's THE METAL CHILDREN) will extend for the third time, now playing through Saturday, December 23.

The Public Theater Announces Joseph Papp Way Street Co-Naming Ceremony on December 1

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced today that in honor of Joseph Papp's extraordinary contributions to the City of New York and the East Village, the intersection of Lafayette Street and Astor Place has been co-named Joseph Papp Way. The Public, celebrating the 50th anniversary of its landmark home at 425 Lafayette Street, will host the naming ceremony celebrating the distinguished honor on Friday, December 1 at 8:30 a.m. at the Astor Place Plaza and is open to the public. The ceremony will include remarks by Oskar Eustis, Commissioner of the Department of Cultural Affairs Tom Finkelpearl, District 2 City Councilwoman Rosie Mendez, and Public Theater Board Member Gail Papp, who will unveil the commemorative sign.

Vineyard Theatre presents the world premiere production of Harry Clarke by Obie Award-winner David Cale (LILLIAN), directed by Obie Award-winner Leigh Silverman (VIOLET) and starring Tony Award-winner Billy Crudup (THE COAST OF UTOPIA, Spotlight, Vineyard's THE METAL CHILDREN), extended through December 10. The production launches Vineyard Theatre's 35th Anniversary Season, opening tonight, November 21.

The Humans kicks off its coast-to-coast national tour at Seattle Repertory Theatre tonight, November 17, before moving on to engagements in top markets across the United States.

Shakespeare & Company has announced its Shakespeare lineup for the 2018 summer season. Under the direction of Artistic Director Allyn Burrows and Managing Director Adam Davis, the season will include three Shakespeare plays: Macbeth directed by Melia Bensussen, As You Like It directed by Allyn Burrows, and Love's Labor's Lost directed by Kelly Galvin. Season FLEXPasses go on sale this afternoon.
